A place I normally not have visit. Now we been recommended to eat seafood here and that was the best recommendation we got on the trip. Ordered a very good seafood platter, the best I ever eaten!
Freaking awesome. I had the best fried seafood platter ever sitting at the bar chatting with the owner who, in the meantime, was also super busy in preparing some takeaway orders. The conversation was almost as lovely as the food but the food itself was simply exceptional, served in huge portions and also incredibly cheap. I wish we had a place like this in my hometown in Italy!

A great neighborhood takeout eatery. When we were staying at the hostel we ordered here almost everyday since we are looking for affordable local places. Good pricing for fresh fried seafood in an expensive area of town. Friendly staff
Came here all the time when we lived in Charleston and still come back even though we moved to another state. We always get the shrimp and fries and pork chop sandwich and fries. The food is fresh, good and at a very reasonable price. I met the owner 13 years ago, and he still remembers me when I call in my order when I'm on my way to pick it up. There are not many places like this left in Charleston anymore.
Wanted to hit this place up before leaving Charleston and so glad I did. It's truly nothing fancy about this place, but what matters most is that the food is fire. And fire it was! I ordered the Seafood Platter ($19.50), which came with fried shrimp & fish, scallops, and devil crab). It was all served up with fries and it was such a satisfying meal. The fish was perfectly fried and the shrimp was big! Never had devil crab before, but I liked it. It was crab cake-ish in terms of texture and taste, but wholly unique as well. This was a black-owned restaurant that I was excited to support and I can see why it's remained a popular spot in the city for good seafood.
A little hole in the wall recommended by the locals. Hand breaded, fresh delicious seafood. Large portions and very reasonable prices! We got take out lunch and brought back to the hotel. They have no parking and street parking is limited, limited dining space too, though they have it. They were packed when we got in! Fried scallops were big and plentiful and cooked to perfection, same with the fried shrimp. The wife ordered Hoppin' John as her side and it was amazing!
Found this place by accident. Good, down home fish fry joint., very simple but good food. Staff was nice and super personable, they seemed to know everyone by name. Will return when back in town.
It’s a very small, no frills location serving fresh fried seafood. Really delicious and simple. Worth a trip for a quick and easy meal.
Amazing spot for picking up some of the best soulfood and fish in Charelston! Hands down some of the best you will get but be aware it is carry out only. My new spot for the fried fish cravings when in Charleston!
