What a fabulous experience - the staff was wonderful, the food and drinks were delicious and the music was great. We stayed at the Carroll Villa Hotel and the room was beautiful and relaxing. I would recommend staying here to everyone. I can’t wait to go back. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.
My granddaughter and I had brunch there yesterday and we both found the service impeccable, even though it was busy were waiting on quickly..our server was delightful and friendly, Kirstin had the crab Benedict which she thoroughly enjoyed , I had the corned beef hash that was absolutely delicious.. we will be back
I haven’t been here since I was much younger, and I think it’s gotten better! This place had a massive line outside when we decided to go on a whim and I’m glad we waited. The Bloody Mary was outstanding. Lots of horseradish, which is exactly how I like it. We got the Chesapeake Benedict which was insanely good, a waffle which was perfect, and a side of corned beef hash which was crispy and delicious. This place is definitely worth going to for a cute breakfast spot with cocktails. Don’t be like me, though, make a reservation.
We spent an off-season week in Cape May and tried a bunch of new to us places. This was the only one we went to more than once. We went on our first night for cocktails and a snack since they had music. The crab cake was the best I have had in a very long time and the cocktails were delicious.
We went back for dinner and more music on Wednesday. My husband had the surf and turf and was very happy with it. I had the lobster ravioli with sauteed shrimp and scallops which was also outstanding! We'll definitely go back when we get the opportunity!
A very busy, bustling, Loud but Fun place that serves great breakfast food & good coffee! My bacon & eggs, w/Yummy onion/green pepper home fries, and Toast was delish! Blueberry Pancakes were a bit dense, but husband made them disappear! Almond/ Orange French Toast was good, as were Pecan Waffles! Would go for that next time with a side of Fresh fruit & berries! 😋
The wings are VERY good: not dry and very flavorful.
The crab cake is delicious, and so are the tostitos!
They offer dining on their spacious porch.
Our waiter from Thailand was wonderful! Our food was good. We sat at the very back of dining room. Lovely old building with much character. Great art work hanging on their walls too.
This place was absolutely amazing! The food was great. The service was great. We were not disappointed at all. We each got a savory dish and shared. The potatoes that come on the side are the best potatoes I’ve ever had. (I prefer shredded, but these were great). The food had great flavor to it and didn’t need much added seasoning. The orange almond French toast doesn’t have any orange taste to it but it was still great! We shared that too. The pancakes looked amazing. The pancakes looked super fluffy and enough to share and we’re definitely get that next time! Our waitress was great and super helpful! The wait for the three of us was 45 minutes between 11 and 12 o’clock, it was worth it! Definitely a place worth going back to!
What a great place to find a unique experience for food and atmosphere. I ordered the mahi taco. Our party also ordered the crab cake sandwich and The cheesesteak egg rolls. All were high quality filled with the right kind of meat and seasonings. Almost all we're served with sweet potato fries (which were excellent!). One important standout was the spiced ketchup with the cheese served with the cheese steak egg rolls. This place is popular so if coming for lunch head here right before noon or sometime after 2pm.
Great brunch spot! I always anticipate a wait but there is shopping on Washington Street Mall nearby so it's easy to pass the time. The crab egg Benedict is fantastic 👌 the blueberry oatmeal pancakes are fresh and delicious as well 🥞. The brunch cocktails are a must as well. The wait staff is helpful and fast considering the crowds.
Had breakfast there this morning and want to give 4.5 stars. The kids ordered pancakes which were delicious. My partner ordered a breakfast platter and a mimosa. The mimosa was delicious and the platter had plenty of food. I ordered a spicy Bloody Mary and it was perfect! I love horseradish in my blood Mary, btw ;). I ordered the orange and almond French Toast. That's the half-star deduction. The serving size was small and the crust on my French toast was hard and a bit burnt. It was the least appetizing item on the table. While I wanted to love it, I just didn't. Otherwise, it's a great place and I would certainly return!

I had the pleasure of dining at Mad Batter in Cape May, and it was an absolute delight. The cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and delectable dishes combined for a wonderful experience. The creative menu offered a range of options, and the flavors were simply exceptional. Breakfast is definitely their hot spot, making it a must-visit culinary gem in Cape May.
