Excellent service and food. Love the ambiance as did our out of state family who dined with us

Fabulous dining experience. Courteous, helpful and friendly hostess. Very attractive space. Excellent, knowledgeable waitress. Truly delicious food. Unique wine list with thoughtful, properly priced wines.
iPad wine list has many expensive older wines at same price or cheaper than liquor stores or online. If you are splurging, great values.
Overall the kind of evening that you dream about.

It’s been a long time I haven’t had such a delicious meal.
The atmosphere, the service and the food were perfect.
The short ribs with the goat cheese polenta were incredible.
The Washington Inn crabcakes are absolutely worth it.
The shrimp cocktail was good - what was most memorable were the sauces. So delicious.
We’ll be back.

The restaurant food and service was fabulous. Our meals were excellent. We started with a vintage French wine, followed by excellent entrees (grilled pork chop, halibut special), and finished by splitting the chocolate mousse tower. Highly recommend.

Came for dinner and it was a great experience. Pleasant and excellent service with delicious food. The best meal we had in Cape May.

Meal was amazing. Karen our server has been there for a while and knows the menu front to back and very warm/friendly. Definitely wanting to come back for more. And valet parking is a perfect touch for the area it's in.

We went here 22 years ago when we got engaged and the food and service was as good as then. Our server was attentive and the food was delicious. Strongly recommend.

Delicious dinner—-I ordered a special, my husband ordered the cioppino. Both were delicious! We did get seated >30mins after our reservation time. Didn’t bother us but I could see how it could bother other clientele. Great cocktails as well. Limited vegan or vegetarian options, which wasn’t an issue for us, but just a forewarning for others. The menu, however, was well labeled for vegetarians or gluten free folks searching for options. The meal was fantastic, but heavy and rich, which we expected based on some light googling over local options.

This review is for the restaurant, not the accommodations. Simply put, everything was outstanding! The service, the food and the ambience was spectacular.
It was the first restaurant my wife (then girlfriend) and I visited in Cape May together in 2010. We recall it being good then, though not incredibly remarkable. So even though we've stayed in Cape May every year since, we hadn't returned to the Washington Inn since there are numerous other venues. But we decided to give it a go again this year and we were very glad that we did.
My wife enjoyed the short ribs and I had filet mignon. Both were cooked and prepared to perfection. We don't normally order dessert, usually because we just don't have room, but we were glad that we did. My wife ordered the special, crustless cheesecake since she has a gluten sensitivity. In fact, it's a rare thing for her to have cheesecake because nobody ever makes one gf. She loved it!
I had the chocolate mousse tower and I I had to fight her off my plate it was so good. Needless to say, the Washington Inn will become one of our mainstay restaurants for the foreseeable future. Well done!

It's a lovely place. We had a great time at both the Inn and Wine Bar with wonderful service, food and drinks throughout our visit. We will definitely return
