Interesting visit this afternoon to this Subway. We approached the counter and we were met with a silent stare from the employee. Literally complete silence. Not a word. No, “welcome”, “can I help you?” “Hello”. Nothing. She just stared at us. I held off to see if she would break and do the right thing for several awkward seconds, but no luck, she remained steadfast in her commitment to silence and well below average customer service. I know what you are thinking.... Special needs or maybe she was a mime or something. Nope. She did in fact have the gift of speech, which was nice to hear, however unpleasant the tone was once she felt the circumstances warranted her to communicate at an absolute minimum. “Toasted?” And “Toppings?” finally came oozing past her lips with every bit of contempt you could imagine. After making the sandwich she again said close to nothing. No asking if we wanted drinks or chips, just the single word question, “receipt?” Then, although it’s probably not a surprise to read at this point, there was no “thank you” or “have a nice day” to be found. Nothing. I thought maybe it was personal, maybe it was just us city slickers that she didn’t take kindly to... but then I noticed that the gentleman who was behind us in line was met with the same silent scorn that we were treated to. Life pro tip for the young lady working there today. Customer service is not for everyone. That means you. Please find a new gig.
