Ojala is one of the newer Mexican restaurants to grace Myrtle Ave and it is a quaint and colorful addition to the many restaurants popping up on Myrtle. There was a small bar and a long banquette running along the wall with tables placed along the way. I started with the chips and salsa which were ok. I would prefer hot chips and a fresher salsa, this was from a jar. The taste of salsa was not necessarily bad but was not as good as I have had in other places that are similar. For my entree, I had the hangar steak with greens and fingerling potatoes. The steak was tender, cooked medium rare as I requested, and tasty. I would prefer maybe less potatoes and more greens. I had 2 frozen strawberry margaritas which were ok- they needed more fruit and way less ice. All in all, I recommend Ojala. The ambiance was subdued and relaxed. At the same time, there is definitely room for improvement with salsa and drinks. With a fresh salsa and improved drink recipes, this could become a new spot to gnosh on Mexican food and drinks. Lots of potential here and I plan on returning!

Food was delicious and the service was good. Just be prepared for some waiting time. I ordered an appetizer, it got to the table after the entrée.

Highly recommend! Excellent Mexican cuisine in the heart of Brooklyn. Genuine Mexican food has been a glaring gap in the pantheon of ethnic food in New York City. This small enclave in my own Brooklun neighborhood does its part to remedy this.

Honestly impressed with the quality of food. I was under the impression that their nachos would be like most spots: an unevenly distributed amount of cheese and cream and just all around toppings on an unimpressive mound of chips. But this place didn't let me down. Came for brunch on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised by the great customer service and amazing bartender. The drinks I ordered were top notch. Especially for the price. Highly recommend this place to everyone.

Fresh ceviche and delicious loaded guacamole with great service. Our server Jairo was attentive but not imposing, really made us feel at home. Their original recipe Blackberry Margarita with activated charcoal ("charro") alone was worth the visit!

This restaurant has the trifecta- Amazing food, great service, and delicious margaritas. This is my 3rd visit, and I've had a great experience every time. The menu has several gluten free options too.

Came here with a group of 9, service was good. Food was excellent and priced reasonably. At the end they surprised us with free shots and churros for everyone.

I’ve been there for dinner and brunch. The food was amazing both times. The brunch really stood out! We got the steak tostadas and huevos rancheros. Both dishes were so tasty that I can’t wait to come back and have them again. They have a bottomless brunch for 25$ that includes unlimited drinks and coffee. Pretty good deal for NYC.
