My family and I have been coming here for a while now—since around the time they opened this location—but I never got around to writing a review. This is the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten. It is mind blowing. We eat here at every opportunity. Every dish is amazing, but we especially like the palak chaat and saag paneer. The palak chaat is perfectly crispy and flavorful and my dad says he’s never seen it anywhere else. The saag paneer is like the fairy food of saag paneers, which is to say once you try it all other saag paneer a pale in comparison. They make the paneer themselves and you can taste it. You can really taste the love and care that goes into every dish. The mango lassi is creamy and delicious and makes me want to drink several gallons of it. The service is excellent. The owner is very friendly and you can tell she cares about her customers and the quality of her food. If you ask she will recommend dishes from the menu and her recommendations never fail to be outstanding. The atmosphere is so pretty, I love the fairy lights.

We hosted a private event in the backyard at Jalsa and it was truly incredible! The food was perfect, the service was impeccable, and the backyard is beautifully decorated with a wonderful atmosphere. Nowshin was so kind, accommodating, and responsive during the planning process. If you are looking for a place to host an event in Brooklyn, look no further than Jalsa’s backyard.

This is our first time visit to Jalsa and we are just awestruck with the taste of the food. Each and every item was so so delicious. Very very authentic Indian taste ( to be more precise , a tinge of Kolkata taste too , specifically for the rolls). Met the owner- Nausheen and came to know she is from Kolkata. And BINGO. Found so much similarity with our Kolkata street food. We tried - Egg chicken roll, Kenab sizzler, Mutton and chicken biriyani, Chicken chap, Naan. Originally from Kolkata and then Coming from Toronto , this is a really good one to have dinner . We booked the place a day before as it’s gets crowded. We will come again. Thank you Jalsa!

I have been ordering from Jalsa since before the pandemic when they were located further south on Coney Island and their food has always been delicious. Recently, we checked out their new location and it is great. We hosted a birthday party in their backyard space and it was perfect. The buffet was delicious and the service & set up were wonderful. Planning with Nowshin was easy and straightforward. We will be going here a lot for future family gatherings for sure. This is a neighborhood hidden gem.

Recently my partner and I had a party in our backyard, and we requested some trays of food from Jalsa to help us feed all of our guests. Jalsa helped us figure out what the right amount of food would be and which options made the most sense. The food was prompt and absolutely delicious. Jalsa is far and away the best South Asian restaurant in the neighborhood, and I'm so grateful they help feed this community! If you need food for a party, consider asking Jalsa! Their prices are very fair and the quality is exceptional.

If you are looking for Indian cuisine in Brooklyn, Jalsa should be at the top of your list. Their food is fantastic. They are also very accommodating with special requests. I called in advance of a Diwali party and they helped me put together a menu for a party-sized platter of naan, rice, goal biryani (which is especially good), and samosas. When I had to request delivery instead of pick-up on the day of, they were very flexible and understanding. The food was a huge hit at the party.

*chef’s kiss* 🤌🏻 got a bunch of apps and entrees - my fave entrees are the lamb korma and chicken juliennes. Fave apps are the chili pepper stuffed with 3 cheese and the other one that everyone recommends. Their cheese and garlic naan was also a good idea 👍🏻 I do wish the portions were bigger for the price. One entree is good for one person.

Wow this place is a must visit. The atmosphere was comforting and the food was delicious! Got a few dishes but that lamp chop was one of the best things I ate in a while, you have to try it, highly recommended!

Jalsa is the best Indian restaurant in Brooklyn, hands down. It is always our go-to when craving Indian food, whether delivery or dine in. The decor is cute and charming. The food is incredibly high-quality, deliciously spiced. The chef is inventive and thus the taste and menu selections are not your typical Indian place. I loved the smoky, deep flavor of their vegetable dishes (some vegan). But recently i noticed the smokiness had disappeared. Nowshin said this was intentional, catering to common feedback that the food was "burnt", but luckily she and chef also said they are happy to make my favorite saag paneer smoky again if I ask them. Is this not amazing customer service?? Favorite dishes: - CHILLI CHEESE NAAN!!! creamy cheese filling with fresh green chillies- irresistible! - garden dosa (masala filling with kale, carrots - a great lunch option!) - chicken chaap & chicken karahi - palak chaat (crispy tangy fried spinach appetizer) - saag paneer - eggplant salaan - tandoori rosemary chicken, salmon, lamb are all excellent. Perfect char but still delectably tender on the inside. - chicken dum biryani - biryani steaming inside a pot sealed with naan
