I live in the neighborhood and am mad I waited so long to come here! My husband and I stopped by for drinks after doing some Manhattan errands. After getting two cocktails each (which not quite to my taste but impeccably made, I'll keep trying!), french fries (perfectly made), and escargot, we were so full we didn't even need to eat dinner! It was awesome. Will definitely come back to try more of the menu, including the steak tartare which I did not see on the menu but another diner got it while I was there...
Solid neighborhood eats. The ambiance and vibe is a 10. Waitstaff are really attentive and awesome.
Food has been great. French onion soup is killer. The burger is excellent. I recently had the steak and loved it. Very kid / family friendly. Good drink menu.
Prices are pretty standard for Brooklyn.
What a gem in the middle of a residential area.
The owner is as down to earth as they come, stopping often to check on us. Greeting at the door and ensuring quality.
The dishes were cooked perfectly and portions were filling.
Enjoy!
PS.. the gherkins are a pleasant surprise!
I eat here once a week and it's got amazing outdoors dining. Food is great and the service is always quick. It gets busy so make sure to get there early or make reservations. A gem of Windsor Terrance.
Brunch here is one of the best deals in Brooklyn! You seriously can't beat the amount and quality of the food for the price. The atmosphere is delightful and the food is SO GOOD! We had the French toast and the omelet with gruyere and ham, and both were perfect. The location is also wonderful in that it is so close to the subway stop. I'm already planning to return as soon as possible!
I just came here for the first time today for brunch. Everything was delicious from the Bloody Mary to the Matcha Creme Brulee. The prices are also very reasonable. Since we are living in COVID times and right now only outdoor seating is permitted it is comforting that the outside enclosure has heaters. Plus, my waiter actually got me an additional heater (without me even asking) to make sure I was extra comfortable. Now everyone that is customer service at its finest. This is my first visit and most certainly not my last. But be forewarned that this place only accepts cash and Amex.
Absolutely the best in the area. Lovely classic French menu with some American favorites too. I adore such designs too. Simple yet thoughtful and cozy. We loved everything about our visit.
Really nice atmosphere and great selection of options. Friendly service and great drink options of cocktails, wines, and beers. I got the pizza that had potatoe bacon which was really good. And my date had the duck confit which she really enjoyed. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good french cuisine.
Really great quality food and chill atmosphere. I highly recommend the duck salad and truffle fries.
I stopped here unexpectedly after a race on Monday night in Prospect Park. I think they seemed maybe in need of one or two more servers ? The initial waiter missed one of the items in my order, took a good while to even get to me (not sure if this was bc there were a few more people than they are used to? ) and he could have been more well versed on the menu.
I ordered a few things, and when I asked him how a particular salad was , he jokingly said it was bad . We had a laugh , and I said no, seriously how is it ? He said it was good . lol ummm yeah - when asked this question I typically get more of a robust answer ( it’s prepared this way or that , it’s has a good balance of flavor because of x y or z … you know ?? It’s not like I’m just getting lettuce on a plate ... have you actually tried it ? That matters, you know. Even if it’s something you don’t gravitate towards, it’s helpful that you, as the waiter, seem knowledgeable on it . I also realized he didn’t ask how I wanted the burger I ordered cooked (so I had to go inside and confirm with a waitress there). Anyway, long story short - I had an emergency so I desperately had to leave, but had already ordered my food at that point . I became an utter disaster asking when my food was going to be ready every few minutes as my tension continued to build. ( fyi, I was warned the french onion soup took a good 30 mins ) .
The waitress who I was dealing with at this point was tremendously gracious given I was pretty much harassing her every few minutes. I was expecting my food to reflect the nonsense I just went through … but the food was pretty good. Great, actually (minus the forgotten burger - which I wasn’t charged for, of course ) . So yeah.. maybe a few more hands on deck, otherwise absolutely delicious food. I'd consider coming back here because the food alone can really stand on its own. Kudos to the chef/cooks!!
