Came here for my birthday dinner with my Fiancée. Essence made us feel more than welcome and took our dining experience from great to more than we could’ve hoped for. Actually the entire staff was kind, generous, and engaging. Every one we interacted with that night was warm and welcoming. The vibe for a weekday dinner was amazing. The food and drinks were wonderful!!! I’m going on a tangent but I would highly recommend, and will definitely be back! Thank you so much for a lovely evening.

Suuuuuch great food. Get all of the starters because they’re incredible, but also have some pasta because it’s also amazing. But the date cake for dessert is the real star here.

Food was amazing, servers were extremely knowledgeable! It’s a fairly small establishment and tables are close to one another but that’s the beauty of NY.

Delicious food and very friendly, attentive staff. The duck was absolutely perfect, and do not skip the sticky date cake for dessert.

Super fun, local eatery. We sat outside with the dog, had fun people watching. The cocktails and food were delicious, especially the celery salad. Who knew? Waitstaff was great, all around an awesome experience.

Lovely brunch spot with delicious food! We had to wait a bit for our food to come out (45-50min), but the waitstaff was super nice and attentive. Really great Turkish eggs — delicious spot!

Nice, chic, restaurant on Atlantic Avenue. There is a bar up front and most of the food tables in the back. The kitchen is open in the dining room around the tables. It’s nicely decorated and the smells are oh so good. But you have to be ok with that. The menu is excellent- but very limited. They have four pastas and three main dishes. Plus appetizers. The halibut was excellent though it is served nouveau style. The pastas are also excellent. Highly recommended but make sure there is something you want to eat first.

Brought my parents here for my father birthday, a few friends of mine highly recommended it and they did not disappoint. The staff was really friendly and helpful. They even signed a card when bringing out my dad's pastry singing happy birthday which I thought was a very sweet gesture. Would def come back! Everything we ordered was delicious.

My husband and I dined here during our visit to NYC. We came from the Cincinnati area and it was our first visit to the city. When planning the trip, Colonie caught my eye so we decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did, because it quickly turned into the absolute highlight of our trip and was an evening we won’t forget. The service is outstanding - each individual host made us feel like family. We were never short beverages, and our space at the chefs table was kept tidy at all times - no empty plates left behind. The sous chefs are impossibly talented at what they do and gave every single plate attention and care before it left their sight. And lastly, the Chef is a true artist and extremely kind, humble person. We were delighted when he walked over to pay a visit as it was our anniversary dinner. The food is layered with exquisite, complimentary flavors that are refined and articulate but also make these dishes relatable, familiar, and remarkable at the same time. As a couple traveling foodies, I can without a doubt say this is one meal you don’t want to miss when you visit NYC. I’m just waiting to visit again and see a Michelin star outside the entrance. Forever a staple every time we return to the city. Thanks Chef and crew for an unforgettable experience.

Everything was delicious but the surprising best dish of the night was the mushroom crostini. You MUST get this. We also got the lump crab tagliatelle and the duck dish. I loved the spicy kick in the pasta and it had a generous serving of crab. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!
