We have been to both locations. Both times the food, drinks, and service were outstanding! Highly recommended the bar wings, ribs and brisket. My father was with us and he has a gluten allergy. The waiter suggested safe options for him and the manager brought the plate out personally to ensure his food safety. Next trip to Boston, we will be back for sure!

Great atmosphere with vast variety of smoked meat. The corn bread is delicious and the beef brisket is recommended.
The service is super quick and pleased and the prices are beyond fair.

This is one of the best BBQs I have had. I was actually impressed. The BBQ fries were other worldly. Hands down the best fries I've ever had. We got it with burnt ends, but the pieces were lacking. That was a little disappointing, but the fries were so good it was not a show stopper. My partner got brisket and sausage. I got pork belly burnt ends and ribs. Everything was delicious. The cornbread was much closer to corn cake, which I LOVED. Dense and delicious. I normally think sausage is a waste in BBQ. I have never had BBQ sausage that I thought was good. But yo. This sausage? People throw around the word unctuous, not knowing what it really means. The sausage was the definition of unctuous. It was so buttery and moist. I know that sounds inappropriate, but the feelings that sausage made me feel are also inappropriate.
Staff was very friendly. Place was clean. The vibe was chill. I'm coming back.
Delightful...the food exceeded all expectations! The appetizer starters, bbq meats, sides and desert were all amazing. The "famous" wings and gooey butter cake simply delicious. Ordered the sandwiches and all the BBQ meat were cooked to perfection. Highly recommended! This place is definitely on my list of favorite BBQ restaurants.
The food is AMAZING! We split a pulled pork plate with the wing add on and cornbread. The brussel sprouts are so good! The pimento Mac and cheese was excellent. The wings are a must try! We got the sweet and they were some of the best I have ever had. My mom and sister split the bbq chicken, it was seasoned perfectly. They have three great sauces to choose from. Our waiter was so friendly. We will definitely return!
Cool barbecue spot in the growing neighborhood of Seaport! It always smells delicious inside the restaurant with a nice joyful ambiance. However, I think the food is just okay (though among the best in Boston 😂). Brisket is fine, very soft and tender though it could be more flavorful. Burnt ends were kind of hard as opposed to crispy but still had a nice char to it. Mac and Cheese was just bad. It really didn't taste cheesy at all.
The service was quick and nice. The location is wonderful, close to Boston Tea Party Museum and parking. The burnt end sandwich was tender and flavorful. We are from Texas, so finding good BBQ on the East Coast is difficult. We definitely recommend it!
We enjoyed our lunch at this place on June 11th 2023, after visiting the Boston Children’s museum.
Service was great and food was good. Most importantly my picky eater kids, ate all their food. I recommend this place.
This review is at least 4 months late in being written, but I had to share my opinion on this restaurant. I was in town for a convention, so stopped by The Smoke Shop for dinner. The place was packed and we didn’t have a reservation, but they made us feel at home and squeezed us in without waiting too long. They advised a Texas style brisket, and coming from Texas I was a little skeptical. The brisket was delicious… it was so good that I didn’t even have to put sauce on it. Our waiter was very friendly and we had a great time.
I so wish I could give five stars and say how blown away I was because I based it on Boston Magazine which says The Smoke Shop BBQ is the best place in Boston for BBQ.
I had a large portion of brisket, but it had large chunks of fat and didn't seem tasty enough.
It wasn't smoky enough for my taste and I'm not sure if it was injected either.
My boyfriend had the Big Beef Rib and this one was more successful.
The fries and coleslaw were good.
The drinks were good.
The restaurant is easily accessible and the atmosphere is good.
As first time here for dinner we had an amazing experience!
The place was pretty packed with a nice bar and music. We both got the Pit Boss which comes with your choice of two or three meats and sides.
For Pit Boss #1, we chose brisket and ribs. The brisket was definitely the winner for the meats, it just melted in your mouth! So deliciously spiced and yummy, wish I got this as a main! The ribs were pretty good and tasty!
