A really cool atmosphere. Love all of the memorabilia and the 80s music they had going on was fun. Food was not bad, interesting ideas for some of the menu. Good service. I really love the fact you could monitor your reservation online as we had over an hour wait and hung out at our hotel (instead of waiting in the rain) until it was closer to time for our reservation to be seated. Great raspberry mimosa! Thanks to our server Nicole for the recommendation!
This morning while watching the phantom gourmet show, they had Friendly Toast segment on. They showed the Some Like It Tot
Golden fried cheddar stuffed jumbo tots with VT cheddar cheese sauce, caramelized onions, crumbled bacon, sriracha glaze & scallions. And the Brunch-Burg-Right-Ahead the house patty with cheddar cheese, Everything Bagel aioli, smashed cheddar tots, an over easy egg, arugula, caramelized onions & crumbled bacon.
Served with waffle fries & a Grillo's pickle. It looks so good I had to try it! So I ordered it for lunch today 12/17/23 around 12pm. I was NOT disappointed tots were delicious and very cheesy very satisfying. The burger was so so so delicious the bun was fresh and cheddar tots and the over easy egg and caramelized onions & bacon the combination of flavors were great! Truly an AWESOME BURGER! The waffle fries crispy and lightly seasoning not too salty and crispy on the outside with a nice crunch delicious!
Eclectic and cute restaurant. Perfect place to grab brunch with friends or family! Our server was very nice. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito with chorizo and the appetizer sampler. The churro bites were delicious along with the breakfast egg rolls!
Such a fun lil place! Good vibes here, we sat at the bar and had Amy? I can’t remember but she was the greatest. Totally chill, friendly, and knowledgeable about celiac. Lots of gluten free options. The breakfast burrito was even good as a leftover. That’s how you know the food slaps. Love that they mark the dishes with allergy picks.
We found this place off of google looking for somewhere local to check out! Oh my gosh let me tell you worth the wait if you love brunch. Their current seasonal menu has two dishes worthy to check out the pumpkin waffle and chef Ingrid’s Panino Al Prosciutto
Great breakfast spot to suit your breakfast cravings! My boyfriend and i arrived right as it opened and got seated right away! Our server introduced himself and apologized for it “being his first day.” If he never said that, i would have never noticed! He was great! We ordered the mimosa flight, my favorite was the mango! My boyfriend got the donut breakfast sandwich which he said cured his sweet / savory cravings! I ordered a simple breakfast of french toast, eggs, bacon and potatoes, but they knocked it out of the park. Cinnamon raisin bread for french toast is a game changer! Delicious experience and will for sure be coming back
Surprisingly cool place to visit! The menu is extensive and vastly unique. Gives off a retro 90’s vibe which make you feel like a kid again. The fried chicken eggs benny was delicious and the Bloody Mary flight was a fantastic sampler. The wife and I will sure be back!
A go-to destination for brunch lovers in the Back Bay area, Friendly toast offers a fun twist on classic diner menu.
Unaware of the Yelp waitlist feature, my friends and I had to wait a staggering hour and a half to get seated on our recent visit. We wondered if the food could justify this long wait. When our orders finally arrived, however, they were lukewarm. Given that the preparation took over 45 minutes, it was a bit disappointing to find that the food had lost its heat—and, unfortunately, some of its flavor. The Snap, Crackle, Cluck Sandwich seemed promising with its Rice Krispies-coated chicken, but the lukewarm temperature rendered it plain. The Sklarmageddon Omelet, while boasting an assortment of meats and cheeses, also was no different from typical meat omelets at regular diners.
However, not everything was lackluster. The Philly Mac Bowl was a delight, combining the goodness of orecchiette pasta and Vermont cheese sauce with the hearty elements of shaved steak and vegetables. The churro bites were another highlight, offering a sweet and crunchy counterpoint to the meal.
Overall, Friendly Toast has a lot going for it: a buzzing atmosphere, an innovative menu, and an ideal location. However, the long wait times and lukewarm food did dampen the overall experience. While it's still one of the better brunch spots in the area, I would recommend giving their other locations a try.
Yum yum yum.
Worth the wait!
Fun crowd and responsive staff.
Eager to please.
Breakfast Burrito and
Chicken cordón bleu Benney ..
Bloody Mary Flight
Just wish I had room for a churro!
Share plates if you can. Portions are huge!
So delicious, everything on the menu looked great. Drink options are extensive. We had to wait at least 30 minutes for a table around lunch time, but it was so worth it. There is a second room/bar hidden away downstairs where the vibe feels much less hectic.
