Review The Friendly Toast - Boston

A really cool atmosphere. Love all of the memorabilia and the 80s music they had going on was fun. Food was not bad, interesting ideas for some of the menu. Good service. I really love the fact you could monitor your reservation online as we had over an hour wait and hung out at our hotel (instead of waiting in the rain) until it was closer to time for our reservation to be seated. Great raspberry mimosa! Thanks to our server Nicole for the recommendation!

This morning while watching the phantom gourmet show, they had Friendly Toast segment on. They showed the Some Like It Tot Golden fried cheddar stuffed jumbo tots with VT cheddar cheese sauce, caramelized onions, crumbled bacon, sriracha glaze & scallions. And the Brunch-Burg-Right-Ahead the house patty with cheddar cheese, Everything Bagel aioli, smashed cheddar tots, an over easy egg, arugula, caramelized onions & crumbled bacon. Served with waffle fries & a Grillo's pickle. It looks so good I had to try it! So I ordered it for lunch today 12/17/23 around 12pm. I was NOT disappointed tots were delicious and very cheesy very satisfying. The burger was so so so delicious the bun was fresh and cheddar tots and the over easy egg and caramelized onions & bacon the combination of flavors were great! Truly an AWESOME BURGER! The waffle fries crispy and lightly seasoning not too salty and crispy on the outside with a nice crunch delicious!

Eclectic and cute restaurant. Perfect place to grab brunch with friends or family! Our server was very nice. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito with chorizo and the appetizer sampler. The churro bites were delicious along with the breakfast egg rolls!

Such a fun lil place! Good vibes here, we sat at the bar and had Amy? I can’t remember but she was the greatest. Totally chill, friendly, and knowledgeable about celiac. Lots of gluten free options. The breakfast burrito was even good as a leftover. That’s how you know the food slaps. Love that they mark the dishes with allergy picks.

We found this place off of google looking for somewhere local to check out! Oh my gosh let me tell you worth the wait if you love brunch. Their current seasonal menu has two dishes worthy to check out the pumpkin waffle and chef Ingrid’s Panino Al Prosciutto

Great breakfast spot to suit your breakfast cravings! My boyfriend and i arrived right as it opened and got seated right away! Our server introduced himself and apologized for it “being his first day.” If he never said that, i would have never noticed! He was great! We ordered the mimosa flight, my favorite was the mango! My boyfriend got the donut breakfast sandwich which he said cured his sweet / savory cravings! I ordered a simple breakfast of french toast, eggs, bacon and potatoes, but they knocked it out of the park. Cinnamon raisin bread for french toast is a game changer! Delicious experience and will for sure be coming back

Surprisingly cool place to visit! The menu is extensive and vastly unique. Gives off a retro 90’s vibe which make you feel like a kid again. The fried chicken eggs benny was delicious and the Bloody Mary flight was a fantastic sampler. The wife and I will sure be back!

A go-to destination for brunch lovers in the Back Bay area, Friendly toast offers a fun twist on classic diner menu. Unaware of the Yelp waitlist feature, my friends and I had to wait a staggering hour and a half to get seated on our recent visit. We wondered if the food could justify this long wait. When our orders finally arrived, however, they were lukewarm. Given that the preparation took over 45 minutes, it was a bit disappointing to find that the food had lost its heat—and, unfortunately, some of its flavor. The Snap, Crackle, Cluck Sandwich seemed promising with its Rice Krispies-coated chicken, but the lukewarm temperature rendered it plain. The Sklarmageddon Omelet, while boasting an assortment of meats and cheeses, also was no different from typical meat omelets at regular diners. However, not everything was lackluster. The Philly Mac Bowl was a delight, combining the goodness of orecchiette pasta and Vermont cheese sauce with the hearty elements of shaved steak and vegetables. The churro bites were another highlight, offering a sweet and crunchy counterpoint to the meal. Overall, Friendly Toast has a lot going for it: a buzzing atmosphere, an innovative menu, and an ideal location. However, the long wait times and lukewarm food did dampen the overall experience. While it's still one of the better brunch spots in the area, I would recommend giving their other locations a try.

Yum yum yum. Worth the wait! Fun crowd and responsive staff. Eager to please. Breakfast Burrito and Chicken cordón bleu Benney .. Bloody Mary Flight Just wish I had room for a churro! Share plates if you can. Portions are huge!

So delicious, everything on the menu looked great. Drink options are extensive. We had to wait at least 30 minutes for a table around lunch time, but it was so worth it. There is a second room/bar hidden away downstairs where the vibe feels much less hectic.

Favorite breakfast spot in Boston area. We visited twice and both times amazing! Delicious food and great friendly fast service. We had pancakes, burrito, Chilaquiles, omelets, and waffles! Everything was so very good!

We came here twice for brunch on vacation. The menu is huge and they have multiple fun flights. The service was great both times! Highly recommend!

What an awesome breakfast experience. Place was already busy before 830am on a Sunday and glad we arrived when we did. No wait and we were sat at the downstairs bar in a very cool area and it wasn't too loud as the downstairs area filled up. Service was fantastic, food was amazing and loved all the decor and signage they had around the entire restaurant. Would absolutely recommend and cannot wait to go again.

First of all, let’s talk about the wait. Hold on! This is not a criticism. It’s a very popular place so be prepared for a 30-40 minute wait…but…they lit your name on a list and text you when table is ready. They also update where you are in the line up so go and walk around…lots to see. The service is friendly but a little bit of a wait for the food. The meals are what you would expect for breakfasts but the atmosphere is great while you are waiting.

If you’re looking for a solid all-day breakfast and cocktail spot in the Back Bay, you have to try the Friendly Toast! The Friendly Toast is known for their all-day brunch and their outstanding cocktail program. The menu is large and offers something for every taste! If you’re a fan of all day brunch, this is the place for you! You can start off with their brunch appetizers, like the churro bites or the breakfast egg rolls. I recommend the “Some Like It Tot”. Jumbo tater tots stuffed with melty Vermont cheddar cheese sauce. They’re topped with caramelized onion, sriracha glaze, scallion, and crumbled bacon. They also have a huge selection of breakfast favorites and staples. You’ll find chicken and waffles, breakfast burritos, bowls, scrambles, omelettes, combos, Benedicts, Avocado Toast, breakfast sandwiches, and so much more! If you are in the mood for lunch they do have a solid selection of handhelds. They have brunch-inspired burgers, grilled cheese, BLTs, and chicken sandwiches. They also offer bowls, salads, and pastas. If you like pancakes and French toast, they’ve got a huge selection and some unique offerings. You’ll find Belgian waffles, pancakes, French toast, and much more! They have a solid selection of side options as well. You’ll find meats, fruits, and breads on the “sides” menu. If you have a lighter appetite, they do have a “Tiny Toast” menu with lighter options. For the Fall, they had numerous specials. They had Pumpkin Pancakes, Pumpkin French Toast, and even a Pumpkin-Apple Bisque. We stopped by for a late brunch on a beautiful fall afternoon. We were seated outside on the patio. Our server was phenomenal and ensured we were well taken care of. She was very helpful on recommendations and any questions we had. Their cocktail program is truly incredible. If you can’t find a new favorite here, it doesn’t exist! They have a huge selection of unique libations, beverage flights, Bloody Mary, and Mimosas. For those who prefer a non-alcoholic option, they offer a nice selection of N/A choices. I recommend the Raspberry Lemonade! I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo. I ended up sending it back as it was just soggy and to be honest, tasteless. It just had zero flavor to it. The home fries were also horrendous. Our server removed it from the bill and I ordered the “Friendly Toast Benny”. It’s your traditional eggs Benedict. The eggs were poached perfectly and the hollandaise sauce hit just right! I upgraded to the tots for an additional $2 to replace the tasteless home fries. The other person in my party loved the mimosas! They went with the “Sam’s Garden Omelette” which has spinach, broccoli, mushroom, tomato, goat cheese, and garlic. It comes with your choice of toast and home fries. We also decided to share a side order of fresh fruit! I would highly recommend this spot for those looking for an all day brunch and/or cocktail spot!

I still dream about this place! Do not arrive hangry because this place will be packed since the food is B O M B !!! They have everything you could ask for and they have plenty of vegan options, which is always appreciated! What made our time here even better was our server, Nate. Nate the Great! His energy was spectacular and he was quite funny. Honestly, I have no idea how he does it The Friendly Toast is boomin' and busy. You will leave here feeling full and slightly guilty from all the carbs that you choose to eat! The Cookie Monster pancakes were filled with Oreos, the chefs didn't hold back (no complaints here). The cheese-stuffed jumbo tots were scrumptious and I still crave them. Don't think twice, just come here and eat until you can't anymore!

I had the best lunch this afternoon at the friendly toast! It was recommended by a friend and I’m so glad for the rec! I love it’s kind of funky colorful vibe and the food choices were so fun it was hard to choose! Our server (Sam) was THE BEST! She had such a fun personality and was just so good to us and everyone around us. I ended up ordering the Buffalo chicken grilled cheese and it was so good! My bf got the Philly Mac and it was also so good! He asked for no mushrooms and it came with them at first but Sam quickly came in and took care of it for us. They had great music. The drinks were good and it was an overall great time. I definitely recommend! Ps: okay they also had plant based straws which I had never seen before and I also loved this. Much better than paper straws and eco friendly, love!

This restaurant has outstanding service and a super cool atmosphere. The food however, was lackluster. I ordered the breakfast appetizer sampler platter. The breakfast egg rolls were dry and the crust too thick. This was topped with a salty ranch sauce. The tots are gigantic and cheesy. The donuts had good flavor but half of my order was over cooked. I would not order any of those items again. But I recommend the service and atmosphere.

The best breakfast-lunch restaurant I have ever been to, the interior is beautiful, the atmosphere is the best possible, and God, the best service I have received in a long time, many thanks to our waitress Meghan, a super friendly person. The food was the most delicious thing I have eaten in a long time, if I could give more than 5 stars, believe me, I really would!
