I came for a late lunch around 3pm. I was the only one in the restaurant. It was clean, pretty dark as the blinds were closed. The lighting at the table was not that great. I ordered ACP in a taco shell bowl. It didn’t have any rice in it, and was very soupy. The shell tasted a little like old grease. I waited a short time for a sweet tea refill. The staff was nice, not overly attentive. I gave it a 2/5 because I didn’t think the food was that great. But maybe it was an off day.
The restaurant is in a small mall near Va Tech. Parking is minimal in front of the building. There’s a couple other restaurants close as well as a Starbucks a couple clothing stores, and a huge movie theater.

Just got home with a to go order from El Rodeo at South Main. Got halfway through my meal and realized there was a mop thread in my food! I will not be eating at this restaurant again. I’m bummed because it used to be one of my favorites.

The food here is always wonderful. Our food and drinks were prepared very quickly after ordering and it was all great. The outside seating is perfect for the spring and summer weather with plenty of shade to make it comfortable.

Taco salad with shrimp came out as soup! Took 1 bite, shrimp was at the bottom and under cooked.
Pushed to the side immediately, waiter stopped by and asked if I needed a box! Really 😳
Disappointed!!! Not coming back on our next visit!

Came in for an early dinner around 5pm. Fast and great service. Food was good. It was normal good Mexican food. It wasn’t bad.

The place was absolutely packed. Zero social distancing or mask requirement. Also the food took over and hour and a half to get done and by the time I got it it was cold. On top of it being cold, the quesadilla ordered was the sorriest excuse for a quesadilla I've ever seen. Paying $10+ for this is quite a rip off.

Pollo tropical is a must for all those lactose intolerant eaters. Perfectly seasoned chicken, with pico and mangoes! A dish I can enjoy without fear of hidden cheese!

Service was great. Price about the same as other mex restaurants. Food was standard, good, not exceptional.
