Been coming here since before I could remember. Definitely a favorite local spot to grab a slice to go or a pie for the family. If you're ordering for pick up just add an additional 10 or so minutes to what you're told. I think only new customers complain how things work here. But if you're a local you understand already what's happening. Seriously delicious pizza.
Bergenfield pizza is among the best pizza I've eaten. Little did I know coming here 35 years ago as a kid with my dad, that I would be going back to this old school pizza joint as an adult. It hasn't changed in all these years and that's fine by me.
Hidden secret: The Marinara deep dish pan pie is a piece of art. It literally takes the owner Mario an hour to make this perfect pizza. Plum tomatoes, garlic, spices, parmesan. Delicious. It takes another half hour to cool down and settle. Since I took the pie to go Mario suggested to not slice it at the shop, so the bottom doesn't get soggy. Instead, slice it at home.
I've tried other well regarded NJ pizza places, see my other reviews, those don't even come close to being as good as this Marinara pie.
Wow! Why, Have I never been here before, is my only question... I've driven past this GEM for years... and recently wanted to give it a shot...
The meatball parm... 2 Feet of AMAZING.. I am definitely looking to try other things on the menu. It definitely has an old-school feel... classic.

The hero chicken parmigiana is as advertised!!!! Highly recommend it only if you are willing to wait the time. Since they are under staff, my wait time for it was about 35 minutes. Worth the wait!!!
Great service, dining in and pizza, at a good price. This place has endured for so many decades, and am glad it is still doing good business. Dined in with my friend, and there is adequate seating and a thriving takeout business, including a lunch crowd.
A small quiet place, with a real home atmosphere. You get more food for your money and it taste well. The owner and his staff are very friendly and you end up with plenty of leftovers. You may even order and take some home, after you have dined in.
I love there pizza. Better than anywhere I have ever had. Something in the sauce gives it outstanding flavor. Huge heroes, hot and cold at a price that's unbelievable. There are a few Idiocracys. Make sure you are very clear what you want when you order. Even with that, I and others keep coming back. That alone should tell you how good the food and prices are. Can't believe that chain pizzerias stay in business with all the great pizza in the tri state area. This is one of them. The bad? They don't deliver.
I only and always get my Eggplant Parm w/ Penne from Bergenfield Pizzeria! It's a big portion for a very descent price, but regardless of the price - The Taste is Amazing! Highly recommend them for all Vegetarians (like myself) and also for carnivores! lol =)
