I don't like posting negative reviews because it is great to have more dining options in town. However, I am very dissatisfied when a restaurant posts pictures of their dishes on the website and in-store menu that are deceptive, so I feel I must warn other diners. I ordered the Jean Lafitte and my wife the jambalaya. Looking at my photo one can see that what I received was a chicken soft taco with Creole seasoning. I counted one piece of chicken total. Now, I didn't attend a culinary school, but I'm pretty sure that soft tacos are not traditional Cajun cooking. My wife's jambalaya was mostly rice with microscopic pieces of sausage. Our food was served on a plastic plate, not in a bowl as is pictured on their menu. I should have been suspicious when I saw that the place was empty. My advice to the owner is as follows: People are not dumb. They might eat here once out of curiosity, but I doubt you will attract repeat customers. Deliver what you promise.

I don't know how long they've been open, but I was pleased. The service was quick, and the restaurant was clean. I liked that the menu was simple to understand. I ordered a small and my fiance ordered a large; he finished and felt stuffed, while I couldn't even eat all of mine because I was full. While I do wish there had been more sauce on the Bourbon Street Chicken and my fiance said it wasn't the best jambalaya he's had, we agreed that the restaurant will probably get better. Overall it was good food at a good price.

Liked the look of the restaurant...but that's about it. The staff was friendly enough, yes. But the lack of actual plates (there was just plastic plates and Styrofoam cups for my gumbo) was disappointing- as was the food. The gumbo tasted like something heated from a can that had been sitting on a shelf for a good year or two. My partner's chicken was nowhere near as spicy as he had been warned and it's flavor was also lacking. I might give it another chance in the future...but only when there's been enough time that the place has shaped up a bit.

This little "dive" style restaurant located on the college square, has been open for about a month. Only been here twice and still here as write this review. The place is small has a "hole in the wall" style but nice and clean inside, friendly staff and fast service. Menus to go and menus on the wall showing what's in your meal. I have a little hot love for the voodoo chicken here. The food is good and priced fairly, my wife and I can get two meals and drinks for an average of 18 bucks. So in short this little spot is worth a shot.

I love Berea and having new dining options. I also LOVE cajun food so this was a must try! My son and I went on a Saturday afternoon. There was one other table. The service was fast and friendly. You are able to try what is on the menu prior to ordering. Prices are cheap and portions are large. I ordered the bourbon street chicken with rice which was delicious! My son got the voodoo nachos and asked to switch with me. I could not even eat them, they were disgusting. I guess it was the jerk seasoning, but it was not good at all. The toast was very bland. If you have ever eaten at Bourbon and Toulouse or Gumbo Yayas, there is NO comparison.

A hidden gem !! Right next to Boone tavern in beautiful berea Kentucky. Great environment, really tasty food and they offered samples so you can really know you are ordering. I ordered the large portion and took alot home for lunch the next day. Highly recommend. Take your wife or family or friends, but go soon and enjoy often.

Food was to blend. No flavor. I would not recommend not would I eat there again. I had Voodoo Chicken which for me was to hot and really no flavor. Then ordered Bourbon Street Chicken which had no taste just to blend. Also ordered Gumbo which I thought was made with seafood n sausage could be my mistake but it didnt have seafood. It wasn't to bad but again just to blend.

Excellent food and very clean. The Bourbon Street Chicken will satisfy any sweet tooth and the Jambalaya is seasoned perfectly. Plenty of parking in the back if the street out front is full.
