The food is good! I got the flounder sandwich. It was delicious! The only issue I had was closing the sandwich because of the fish. So maybe if it’s cut in there or maybe getting a wider loaf of bread, would make this meal a little simpler to eat. The hush puppies were some of the best I’ve ever had. The banana pudding was nothing special, but it was delicious. Overall, I would definitely come back!

Loved the atmosphere and hospitality! Very welcoming for an outsider at a hometown local eatery! Bacon wrapped scallops were awesome! Along with the Banana Pudding! Will definitely return on my next visit to Historic Downtown Bedford!

Slice of the Shore in this "Inland Harbor" tiny Restaurant and Pub !!! Katie was a fantastic waitress and all the staff stopped by to check and make sure you didn't need anything !!! The food was prepared fairly quickly even though they were very busy !!!! And it was nice and hot !!! Set in picturesque Bedford VA (Near Roanoke and Lynchburg VA) Bedford is home to the world renowned "National DDay Memorial" honoring the 19 boys who lost their lives in Normandy, France 1944 who were all from this little town. Nearby is the 4,000' tall Peaks of Otter !!! Great views all around the town. People who are travelling and want a great place to have an adult beverage and seafood after hiking the Peaks of Otter, or seeing the DDay Memorial, or even visiting in near Forest, VA "Poplar Forest", the villa/retreat octagonal home of our third President Thomas Jefferson, may want to stop here at "Clam Diggers" and get some seafood !!!! Steamed shrimp, Alaskan crab legs, scallops and the like !!! The College game was on the television in the pub and the whole place was full of seafood lovers and Sports fans !!! We'll come back and they even have music sometimes !!! Check this place out !!!! Update April 2, 2022. Went back for a meal while shopping in the area and the food was fantastic and Karli our server was just fantastic !!!

A very nice little place. Originally from Maryland, my wife and I do get cravings for some good seafood, and I think we found our go to place in the hills. None of their food is fried, like all the other seafood places we've tried. Everything is broiled or "oven fried. " There is a pretty good selection, considering how far we are from the coast and fresh seafood. We enjoyed the crab stuffed flounder. It was, melt in your mouth, good. I am planning a return trip in a few weeks. It was a little expensive, but what seafood isn't. One drawback to this place is that they are only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Not sure if it's supply chain problems, staff shortage or that they concentrate on the drinking establishment, a lot more profit, on the other days. Either way, if you are lucky enough to be going near or through Bedford, Virginia on one of the 3 days they are open, give them a try. If you aren't into seafood, try the BBQ or the filet mignon.

Always had great food and service! My absolute favorite is the crab dip appetizer! It's amazing! I could eat a bucket of it! One of the best places to eat in the area!

Looking for a place to eat a late lunch on our way to Smith Mountain Lake. Nothing but chain food was open until we spied Clam Diggers in downtown Bedford. Service was quick and attentive. Food hit the spot. End your meal with banana pudding!
