Dairy Queen

Y'all, this is the cutest lil 'ol Dairy Queen in all the United States. It's got that vintage look that urges you to stop, even if you're lactose intolerant. The teens who work there are adorable, they've got children's artwork of ice cream on the windows, they advertise desserts you don't see at other DQ's (a strawberry cheesecake boat--who wouldn't drive an hour just to have one?), and there's seating outside to take your time with your family or friends (or by yourself as I prefer at times) and ponder life and this quaint Virginia town. Plus I ordered a Blizzard and they somehow managed to make it twice the size of the cup!

The kids loved it so much that one son wore most of his till soccer practice and the other son was quite silent which is very much a rarity. We had a great time and the ice cream was spot on. Will most definitely be back soon for the delicious ice cream selections and the opportunity for a brief moment of silence during the course of our otherwise conversation dominating talk filled day! Lol

No banana splits. They never have cherries for sundaes and very limited to no options for toppings. You can pay extra for candy.There's not much separating their hot fudge sundae from McDonald's. It's chocolate and ice cream and some nuts. It is an old timey dairy Queen is severely run down with no bathrooms. If you want a blizzard, this is the place to go, otherwise they're not a lot of ice cream options or food for that matter. They had vanilla and chocolate but the machine was not working so no option for twist. Staff was helpful and they seem to understand that they were pretty limited from what a normal dairy Queen would have to offer.
