My brother came from New York to visit so I purchase the fish shrimp and chicken and salad with fishes. All was great except for the fries. They should have placed them in another box or sides. Being underneath the chicken made them soggy and greasy. Could not eat them. My family enjoyed them. Watermelon slice e s was very sweet. My family enjoyed the meal.

This isn't a Michelin restaurant, but they have darn good chicken at a very reasonable price. My grandchildren love it as well.

Had to place a large last minute order for a birthday party. They got me right in no time. They said 15 minutes, they meant 15 minutes. Chicken was just right with that extra sprinkle on top. If you know, you know. Make sure to get that half and half. 🔥

Just good food good people no drama, located next to a dispensary you have the best of both all the customers are respectful towards each other parking is tight mostly takeout in drive-thru. No complaints here

Best fish, chicken, and mac and cheese I ever tasted 😋! 1st time going was visiting Maryland from Cali in April 2021. They also sale exotic GingerAle Peach flavor. They have reasonable prices for very good food. Will be making a special stop in Maryland again in July just to go to Hip Hop while visiting the East Coast.

Good food combined with great value but undercut by slightly subpar service. I had a takeout order from here, and the employees seemed more interested in watching the soccer game on the tv behind me than in my order. They did however, get my order perfectly even though there were many components, and the food was delicious! We had the chicken value box and a box of tenders. Both were great, and much more food than the price might suggest. Would recommend!

Great food. They have gizzards and they were amazing!! I love a good gizzard and they cook them perfectly.
It's a chicken joint so it's not a restaurant you dine in.
The customer service was great. They said my food would be ready in 10 mins and to check back. I came back and the food was ready to go.

Good. Catfish nuggets used to be my favorite but its been soggy the last few times so I ordered the chicken tenders which were hot and juicy. The wings are not as good as Chicken Coop but the sides are really good!

Worth the grease!. Had the fried trout and sweet potato fries--those fries were crispy and sweet, not sweet like they had to put sugar on them but SWEET POTATO sweet!<br/><br/>Also had the large shrimp fried with regular fries. The shrimp were fresh fresh fresh, perfectly done and NOT GREASY. Totally different batter used from the fish which is refreshing. <br/><br/>Will be a faithful customer.

Bad service unprofessional. It's so funny to hear someone had the same exact experience I had with Hip Hop chicken I purchase 2 wing dinner got home and was very displeased that the chicken was burnt and undercook mixed. I called they was very nice on the phone however when I arrived they were very rude, refuse to replace the meal told me I broke the chicken part... How else would you attempt to eat a piece a chicken? I was very upset because I was a frequent customer I told so many people about this place. They really need a class On customer service..moreover they will not get anymore of my money... Please be careful eating that food....

If you have to have it..... This type of food should not be eaten on a regular basis. However, if you must or on those rare occasions when you can let your arteries splurge a bit, this is the way to go. i've only been to the locations on liberty rd and route 40/balto natl pike. Both serve the best food of this genre. Frankly, I was skeptical at first because; 1, I usually don't eat greasy spoon, over-fried fast food from anywhere, least of all the corner-store, fried yardbird joints and; 2, everyone who raves about it is usually morbidly obese diabetics just one long flight of stairs away from a major coronary infarction. A friend asked me to pick some up for her on the way to her home and that stuff haunted my olfactory senses all the way to her house. One more trip like that a few weeks later and I broke down and tried it. Eureka!!! This stuff was so good I almost got a chubber. They dust all the food with some mystery substance that obviously includes crack because you cannot stop eating this stuff. It's embarrassing. So now I go about once every 2-3 wks to get a fix and i'm okay. If you're anything like me and hate waiting in an overly crowded shoebox or you're embarrassed to be seen in that type of place, just call ahead and it'll save you some time and humiliation.

Love Things For What They Are. I've been a customer of Hip-Hop since they opened their first location on Liberty Rd over 4 years ago. In all honesty, where else can you get a combination of chicken & fish for under 10? NOWHERE. You get big pieces of fish, reasonably sized chicken wings, everything is fried to order, and they have a pretty decent amount of items on the menu. Do you go to Kennedy Fried or NY Fried Chicken and expect the greatest customer service? No. Do you expect them to have the most health conscience food? No. This spot is excellent for those who just want some good, home styled, fatty fried food. Not too greasy, the seasoning on the chicken is actually very unique and has a sweetness to it that I've never had and cannot duplicate. If you have major health concerns like high blood pressure or food allergies, you shouldn't be eating this kind of stuff anyway. Calling ahead is the best way to go at all locations I'm sure. Yes, they do chicken joint to the best I've seen it done. Thank God they came along because I hate NY Fried Chicken. It's nice to have some decent late night drunk food.

TOOOO many fries!!!!. Visited the one in Glen Burnie. reasonably clean, cust serv. varies. depends on person. They are definately Heart cloggers. FRY'S W/ damn near everything. I don't eat them or very few but already have two (lg) freezer bags full, aft only 3 orders of fish. More expensive if u buy fish(only) alone. My wings were sm. not overly seasoned. catfish lightly breaded & seasoned and hot. pretty good. I'm told they have 7 locations but no website. google only. Who said crime doesn't pay. Beats openning a laundry mat. hehehe.... I know that was in bad taste (no pun intended) but come on now..... you do the math???????

Good chicken. The name of this spot may throw you off a bit,but if your a lover of fried chicken this is a place you must visit.Hip hop's set up like a carryout, so you basically order your food to go(can call ahead). The prices are very resonable and the flavor of the chicken is wonderful!!I would recommend this place for catering events, or just picking up soemthing to eat when craving some fried chicken.The lines can be pretty long on the weekends,but its worth the wait..

Good Fried Chicken Wings. So I don't know what many of you thought this place was before you got there, but it's a straight up chicken wings and fries type spot. In my opinion its one of the better ones in the Baltimore area. The wings are cooked fresh and have just the right amount of seasoning and they're never too big. I can't stand those huge steroid wings they serve at some places. I've been to one on Liberty Rd and the one on Baltimore Natl Pike. The chicken was pretty much the same at both places. If you're expect great customer service this may not be your place, but if you want some good hot fresh chicken wings definitely try this place out.

The one on liberty rd is ten times better! The cashiers are too flirty, it's more than uncomfortable! The fries are greasy but the chicken is okay.

Good. I like this place, I usually order the catfish combo, its a lot of food and i like that, the chicken wings are good, the fries are good, the coleslaw is good, and the half and half is great. i go to the one in park heights and i haven't had any problems there.

#12 Rating is a joke!. So we decided to try this restaurant because it was rated as Urbanspoon's #12 restaurant in Baltimore. This rating is a joke! The restaurant is just an average greasy chicken and fish joint.....similiar to a JJ's Chicken & Fish or any random chicken restaurant you can find on a corner. We had the chicken wings and catfish. The food was not memorable by any means. Also, not sure what's so "hip hop" about it.

Hip Hop FAIL!. So the food is good, but the people...not so much. Went to the one on Liberty Road the other night and one of the workers made an anti-semetic comment!!! I am not Jewish, but I don't think that I need to be in order to be offended when some makes a blatantly racist remark. The food might be ok, but there are TONS of great chicken places that don't go out of their way to offend customers! Skip this chicken place...seriously.

What is that seasoning that they put on there. We have tp be careful of the seasonings that are add to the foods that we eat and ask what it is because if you have an allergic reaction to it, it can be detrimental to your health!! but over all it is good
