Worth the grease!. Had the fried trout and sweet potato fries--those fries were crispy and sweet, not sweet like they had to put sugar on them but SWEET POTATO sweet!
Also had the large shrimp fried with regular fries. The shrimp were fresh fresh fresh, perfectly done and NOT GREASY. Totally different batter used from the fish which is refreshing.
Will be a faithful customer.

If you have to have it..... This type of food should not be eaten on a regular basis. However, if you must or on those rare occasions when you can let your arteries splurge a bit, this is the way to go. i've only been to the locations on liberty rd and route 40/balto natl pike. Both serve the best food of this genre. Frankly, I was skeptical at first because; 1, I usually don't eat greasy spoon, over-fried fast food from anywhere, least of all the corner-store, fried yardbird joints and; 2, everyone who raves about it is usually morbidly obese diabetics just one long flight of stairs away from a major coronary infarction. A friend asked me to pick some up for her on the way to her home and that stuff haunted my olfactory senses all the way to her house. One more trip like that a few weeks later and I broke down and tried it. Eureka!!! This stuff was so good I almost got a chubber. They dust all the food with some mystery substance that obviously includes crack because you cannot stop eating this stuff. It's embarrassing. So now I go about once every 2-3 wks to get a fix and i'm okay. If you're anything like me and hate waiting in an overly crowded shoebox or you're embarrassed to be seen in that type of place, just call ahead and it'll save you some time and humiliation.

Love Things For What They Are. I've been a customer of Hip-Hop since they opened their first location on Liberty Rd over 4 years ago. In all honesty, where else can you get a combination of chicken & fish for under 10? NOWHERE. You get big pieces of fish, reasonably sized chicken wings, everything is fried to order, and they have a pretty decent amount of items on the menu. Do you go to Kennedy Fried or NY Fried Chicken and expect the greatest customer service? No. Do you expect them to have the most health conscience food? No. This spot is excellent for those who just want some good, home styled, fatty fried food. Not too greasy, the seasoning on the chicken is actually very unique and has a sweetness to it that I've never had and cannot duplicate. If you have major health concerns like high blood pressure or food allergies, you shouldn't be eating this kind of stuff anyway. Calling ahead is the best way to go at all locations I'm sure. Yes, they do chicken joint to the best I've seen it done. Thank God they came along because I hate NY Fried Chicken. It's nice to have some decent late night drunk food.
Good. I like this place, I usually order the catfish combo, its a lot of food and i like that, the chicken wings are good, the fries are good, the coleslaw is good, and the half and half is great. i go to the one in park heights and i haven't had any problems there.

What is that seasoning that they put on there. We have tp be careful of the seasonings that are add to the foods that we eat and ask what it is because if you have an allergic reaction to it, it can be detrimental to your health!! but over all it is good
My brother came from New York to visit so I purchase the fish shrimp and chicken and salad with fishes. All was great except for the fries. They should have placed them in another box or sides. Being underneath the chicken made them soggy and greasy. Could not eat them. My family enjoyed them. Watermelon slice e s was very sweet. My family enjoyed the meal.
This isn't a Michelin restaurant, but they have darn good chicken at a very reasonable price. My grandchildren love it as well.
Had to place a large last minute order for a birthday party. They got me right in no time. They said 15 minutes, they meant 15 minutes. Chicken was just right with that extra sprinkle on top. If you know, you know. Make sure to get that half and half. 🔥
Just good food good people no drama, located next to a dispensary you have the best of both all the customers are respectful towards each other parking is tight mostly takeout in drive-thru. No complaints here
Great location, limited parking, delicious food, depending on time their is a wait, you can phone in your order to save time, prices are reasonable, staff are professional and courteous.
Best fish, chicken, and mac and cheese I ever tasted 😋! 1st time going was visiting Maryland from Cali in April 2021. They also sale exotic GingerAle Peach flavor. They have reasonable prices for very good food. Will be making a special stop in Maryland again in July just to go to Hip Hop while visiting the East Coast.
I love their food. It's so good. I also love the chicken gizzards and livers.
They're wings were delicious and they're fries were too I'm just sad that they don't have one in North Carolina because I moved from Maryland like bro show some love to NC
Quick, fried, comfort, Soul Food provided by Non-Black run businesses is a norm around here, but the food is hot and tasty!
Good food combined with great value but undercut by slightly subpar service. I had a takeout order from here, and the employees seemed more interested in watching the soccer game on the tv behind me than in my order. They did however, get my order perfectly even though there were many components, and the food was delicious! We had the chicken value box and a box of tenders. Both were great, and much more food than the price might suggest. Would recommend!
