So many Italian choices in Little Italy. We looked around, saw the reviews and wonderful pictures of some fantastic food. We had to go! Friendly service as we were met at the door and taken to our table. Many choices including gluten free and vegetarian options. I dived into the seafood medley offering and was not disappointed, tasted fresh from the sea. Wifey had the vegetarian ravioli and was equally satisfied. Good drinks, saw many of the highlight homemade limoncello Lemon Drop Martinis on several tables.
We came in for my friend's Birthday. We came in, and was one of the last for the night to be seated. The service was absolutely amazing our waitress was extremely nice, and had an amazing personality. The food was incredible, the homemade limoncello, and red house wine were amazing. The kitchen staff was very nice and came out to see how we enjoyed our food. The experience was amazing.
The food was good, but not spectacular. The customer service, just nothing special or super attentive. The cost seemed very good to me. Also, the atmosphere is quite calm and spacious. Plus, there was very calm music in the background.
This was a stop in the little Italy food walking tour. So there was a sampler to try when we got there. Well the place is super nice. The staff were super friendly, and the food was excellent! I am fired up to go back for dinner.
We randomly stepped into this restaurant on a Sunday evening and were really impressed by its food. We were warmly welcomed by the front desk at the entrance. Every dish that we ordered tasted flavorful and at the same time possessed a fresh and authentic Italian vibe.
Spaghetti: You could tell from the slightly coarse texture of the spaghetti that it was freshly hand made and it well absorbed the flavor of the seafood broth. The fresh blue crab meat on the top also added a local twist to this transitional pasta dish.
Seafood medley: The seafood was paired with real lobster broth. The broth was so delicious that we had to get a second basket of bread (no bread left).
In addition to the taste of the dishes, the prices at this restaurant were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Came here on Christmas Eve. Our server recommended us to try appetizer combo, which is pretty good since I wanna try all different dishes. The food is great with large amount, we didn’t finish all of them. We recommend to order one appetizer to share for two people and each one of you order one entree. I will probably come back again to try more next time.
This is an update of my review from about a year ago. La Tavola is I think the BEST Italian restaurant in Baltimore. The chef-owner, Chef Carlo, is a creative genius with food. He makes virtually everything in house, including the bread, the pasta, as well as the sauces and the main entrees. And he uses the freshest ingredients. On my recent visit, I had an appetizer I think was called bresole. It was a bed of thinly cut, cured meat, with fresh arugula, cheese, balls of melon. And for me the most special thing was figs that the chef lightly grilled. The chef has a fig tree in his backyard. Right now he has a lot of figs from this fig tree. Lightly grilling the fig brings out its sweetness. I have literally never tasted that in my entire life. And I cannot get that for any amount of money anywhere, except at La Tavola. The chef has a commercial fishing license and he sometimes goes fishing in the morning and serves at the restaurant the fish he caught the same day. The chef's commitment to fresh ingredients is unparalleled.
Then I had the short ribs on a bed of risotto. Absolutely fabulous. The meat just falls off the bone. And for dessert I had the tartuffo. I need my food gluten free so I have just the top part of the tartuffo (so no cake). It tastes great. It's gelato with a chocolate sauce.
I should mention all the dishes I named here are specials. Special means it is not available all the time. This is another reason why I never tire of eating here. In addition to the regular menu items, there are always specials that change depending on what fresh ingredients the chef has on hand that day.
The chef is also very open to making his restaurant gluten-free friendly. He does not have a dedicated gluten free kitchen. But I am happy to report I eat here frequently and I have never gotten sick from gluten here. I don't know of any other restaurant in Baltimore that has home made gluten free pasta. Chef Carlo offers strofe which is made with Italian gluten free flour. All I care is it tastes great. Almost all of the pasta dishes are gluten free if you make it with strofe.
Dining here is like dining with family. I like the relaxed atmosphere. The atmosphere is casual but it is also nice enough and the food is special enough to be a special event restaurant. Plus I have always been thrilled with the food here. It's definitely a restaurant worth visiting!!
Family atmosphere. The staff is client-oriented. I asked if possible to change some food combinations and they did it for me. They found the right wine for my taste. Thank you very much!
The food was delicious and I really enjoyed my choice. The taste of dishes was balanced and I ordered some food to take out. For the dessert, I had cheesecake and latte. I had a great time and experience with La Tavola.
We came for a pre show dinner and had a great experience. The server mrs rita was amazing
I’m glad we decided to give this place a go

Great Italian food at the heart of Baltimore little Italy’s area. Menu’s are all from scratch. Pasta are tender and fresh. The beef ribs taste really good. The seafood are cooked right to my taste bud. It’s a good experience to be here. Daniel was very helpful in explaining the menu.
