Review Tagliata - Baltimore

Clinton Kurtz
Great atmosphere and a very lively vibe. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. The food and drinks were all excellent. There was a good portion of lobster on the raviolis and the sauce was great. My only issue was the service. We had a reservation and we arrived early but they made us wait way past our reservation time for a table and it took a long time to get the food. Still a great dinner spot for family or friends.

One of the best Italian restaurants we've ever been. I normally don't finish my plate because of the big portions. But I finished my Ceasars salad and my main of Squid ink pasta. We sat at the bar on Saturday afternoon. It was not busy. The lady at the bar was friendly and pleasant. Love everything about this place. ❤️

Visited Tagliata back in April 2023 for a late Saturday lunch. It was pretty quiet, but it was also a rainy day. Food and atmosphere was great, did not disappoint. Ordered 3 appetizers to share, and 2 entrees (full portions of pasta) for three people and it was way too much (could have gone with half portion for one of the pasta). Service was also good. Overall, very happy with our visit and will definitely be back for some yummy Italian food and/or a special occasion. They also has gluten-free options. Parking options: there is a nearby garage about a block away or you can street park.

Fabulous experience! Great and lengthy wine list. There was a knowledgeable sommelier to assist in questions. The bartenders were friendly and helpful. The steak with the bone marrow sauce is a sleeper. Don’t miss this sauce!!! The calamari was spicy and enjoyed. The fried chicken was awesome !!

The dishes I tried were fantastic. The pastas all sounded incredible and were hard to choose from. I eventually settled on the basil radiatore, which was incredible. Great flavors, and not too heavy. I ordered the salmon but wanted different sides, & my server easily switched my platting to the scallop dish's base instead, which made me really happy. Excellent service and attention from everyone invovled- the bussers to the managers.

Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. We’ve come a few times with friends and it’s a crowd pleaser. The cocktails we ordered weren’t our favorite though. First, the bread. It comes with butter and Parmesan- I love the Parmesan it comes with. We ordered the broccolini which is a side and the meatballs to start. The meatballs are sizeable to share. Very soft and great texture. Served with a small toasted bread. We ate the sauce with the leftover bread. The broccolini has red pepper flakes, garlic, and served with lemon. It was soft and really easy to eat. For mains, we ordered the duck tortellini and the full rigatoni. I think the full rigatoni is a HUGE serving. The pasta is a perfect texture - sauce is good, but nothing mind blowing. Still a great dish. The duck tortellini was new to the menu. The half comes with 6 tortellini. On top it’s served with pears and hazelnuts and butternut squash. It’s a little overdone on the hazelnuts. Overall a great fall tasting dish. I wouldn’t get again. For dessert, we got the tiramisu and the chocolate semifreddo. The chocolate semifreddo is reminiscent of one of my favorite ever dishes from a restaurant that used to be based in NYC. Amazing texture and flavors together! Highly recommend! The tiramisu was layered so not as mascarponey heavy- depends on your preferences, but I love a luscious creamy tiramisu. Unfortunately we put it was my birthday on the reservation notice but it must have slipped since there was no acknowledgment/special presentation. So if you’re here for something special maybe give them a reminder. They seemed super busy on a Thursday night. It looked like there’s valet parking but we always find street parking. Reserve in advance

What can I say about this place..this is by far the most amazing Italian restaurant in Baltimore. Close to the harborfront, this restaurant is great for business/date night eat outs. Squid ink pasta and chicken marsala are must try dishes. The soft bread that they serve in the beginning is so delicious. The cocktails are great and have a nice kick to them! Overall a great experience.

Wonderful place to dine outside. Service was prompt and very friendly and helpful. Emily was our server and did an outstanding job. I got the lobster ravioli which was decent, little bland on flavor and a bit overpriced but the wine was great and overall it was a nice experience.

One of the absolute best Italian restaurants in Baltimore. The food, service, and vibe are amazing. Atlas has built a special alley here with Tagliata, Disco, The Monarch, and The Elk Room. So much to offer all in one location.

Delicious food and great service. Definitely do the hand made pasta instead of classics. I had a lobster pasta and it was delish, everything was super fresh. They also have half portions which are perfect for not feeling so stuffed. We went for my husband’s birthday and they gave us a complementary tiramisu. The servers and everyone were nice despite us being there late and I’m sure they were eager to wrap up their shifts.

I went to Tagliata for the 2nd time in a few years with friends for dinner. The ambiance is perfect for a nice spring or summer day outdoors. Indoors has a contemporary and classic feel. Italian food is one of my many favorites and the food met all the expectations of what I was craving. We started off with the smoked salmon bruschetta which was light, smoky and very flavorful. I then had the classic chicken parmigiana which really hit the spot. Lastly, we shared the tiramisu for dessert. Tiramisu is one of my favorites and this one was memorable! Our server was great, very attentive and never left us hanging! All in all, when in Baltimore this is always a place I keep in mind for a good and modern Italian-inspired fare.

Loves: This restaurant is GORGEOUS and the food is amazing. I ordered the Squid Ink Campanelle (size half) and Olive Oil cake—both were absolutely delicious. Tons of flavor and I felt satiated when I was done. Off topic: but I also love how beautiful and dressed up the guests are! Dislikes: The host was absolutely incredible and sweet. Other than that, the customer service was not good— my experience there was uninviting and cold. Additionally, the busboys kept trying to take our plates away even though we had JUST got our food minutes ago (once they took it away without asking—with food still on the plate). I felt rushed and like I had to keep my fork in hand at all times, to show I’m still eating. I would still go back, but I’ll try to go on a less busy day where I don’t feel rushed.

Absolutely loved the food so much we came back for a second time! Everyone has been friendly. Outdoor seating is ridiculously comfortable and the atmosphere is beautiful!

It's quite busy so make reservations. We came early so managed to get a seat at the bar which is rare. Austin the bartender was very personable. Food was great very tasty! It was worth the splurge.

The lobster ravioli was amazing! Fantastic service. We had the calamari to share and it was excellent. Everyone loved their drinks as well.

Great food but wasn't next level for me for the price. Almost fell out of my chair laughing where the specials went from the 20s straight to 200 for the wagyu. The bar certainly knows their job! The menu options try to balance between steak and seafood, cooked well and interesting enough. My 5 stars is a stretch on the food, but I did have a good time.

Back again 8-11-23, same thing, great food and superior service. Back again, same great food, same superb service. It was a long time coming but we finally made it for lunch and the food, service and ambiance are amazing! Fresh pasta, quality ingredients and a chef who knows what he is doing all add up to superior Italian cuisine. The chicken I had in my marsala was fork tender and I have never had marsala with 4 different mushrooms in the sauce. Just plain excellence on a plate. Meatballs were awesome and the salad was excellent too. A lot of attention to detail goes into the whole experience. Check it out.

This is a must visit in Baltimore. The staff was outstanding and very patient. The menu is short and concise with enough options to please almost anyone. I sampled off of neighboring dishes as well so I will list those as well. Not pictured was the Cesar salad. It was very good and came with toasted sourdough of which crumbles nicely to act as your croutons. New York strip was cooked perfectly as requested. The flavor was fantastic, and the garlic paired very nice with it. The roasted fingerling potatoes paired nicely with the garlic and steak. The Rigatoni alla vodka, was exquisite. The sauce was fantastic and didn’t overwhelm the fantastic taste of that fresh pasta. I visit from far away, and I must go every time I’m in Baltimore. Their drinks are also very good, try a cherry vodka sour with egg!

We dined at Tagliata last night to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday with a group of our best foodie friends. The entire experience was exceptional! Our server, Delia, was so knowledgeable and personable- we had a great time with her as she led us through the menu. Steven helped us with our wine selections and thanks to him we picked out some awesome selections, including a great Lebanese wine I would have never picked without his expertise. We tried so many menu items, and loved them all. My favorites were a huge charcuterie and cheese board, peeky toe crab bruschetta, squid ink campanelle, Tuscan fried chicken, salmon with farro, the Porterhouse and the fried ricotta donuts. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the people watching terrific. We can’t wait to return!

I really wanted to love this place but they made that impossible! The Saturday night I was there started of in the right direction and then went south fast! I walked in to a crowd waiting to be s seated, no spots at the bar for me and 2 friends from Tampa and scored a nice but loud table in front of the piano. I grabbed the table while waiting for my friends to arrive. I sat alone for a solid 15 minutes without anyone even acknowledging me or offering me a drink! I got up to greet my friends, only to sit down and have the 3 of us ignored! Finally, I had to go to the hostess stand to request a server!! Then after all that waiting the server had an attitude!! We should have left. The Caesar Salad was one of the worse I've ever had. The meal was fine but uneventful, no better than an Italian entree from Basta Pasta and a whole lot more expensive! Given the deep pockets of the owners of this place it was greatly disappointing! Good thing Baltimore has many other options.

Enjoyed our time for lunch today. Had a Squid Ink Campanelle - a blue crab, sea urchin cream sauce, chili, basil, bread crumb that was very good! Enjoyed talking with the manager and the waiter who was very knowledgeable. Would totally recommend this place.

My wife and I decided to have a late lunch. We virtually had the place to ourselves. The food was excellent. We lived in Italy for 2 years, and would say that the dishes were as good as we’ve had since we returned to the states. I recommend the pasta e fagioli and the squid ink Campanella as well as the salumi & formaggi. We will be going back!

Was really excited to try this restaurant out, but it was nothing special. I have heard personally from a handful of people that it was great. However my experience on Mother’s Day was subpar. The hostess stand was great and seated us within 10 minutes of arriving with our reservation. She offered my 1 1/2 year old son a toy to pick and play with which was really nice! Our server (not sure of her name) came over and there was no rundown of the menu, specials offered (if there were any), suggestions or anything. We gave her our drink order and then she asked us if we were ready. I wasn’t ready the first two times she asked it was within 10 mins of us sitting down, way too fast and rushed. Food was mediocre... I was expecting some seriously good Italian food. Chicken parm had no taste, but was perfectly cooked. The pasta that came with it was not fresh pasta and tasted like a steamers bag with premade sauce in it. Our waitress didn’t come over once while we were eating until I was literally on the last bite. At that point I just asked for the check so we could get dessert elsewhere. If I came back it wouldn’t be Italian food, more so apps and drinks and then out. Have been to the Bygone for my birthday in March who is the same corporate group and it was fantastic.

Just perfect like perfect - thoughtful menu, excellent cooking, real fresh flavors, mix of simplicity and sophistication with recipes, top staff, very nice design and place, soft live music - Thank you!!

We celebrated my birthday dinner Saturday night and had amazing service, great food, and absolutely loved the outside seating! Our waitress was personable, knowledgeable, and went out of her way to recognize my birthday. So impressed. The calamari, squid ink campanelle, and shishito peppers are a must try. The entire dining experience from start to finish was the best. Looking forward to our next dining experience at Tagliata!

Came here with friends. Terrific food and wonderful atmosphere. The eggplant parmigiana was amazing, as was the pumpkin and pear agnolotti. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend- all the food was delicious- we split a salad, calamari, and ribeye plus we had two different half orders of pasta - our waitress was very helpful in ordering

One of the best experiences!!! From the warm and welcoming staff to the food and the ambiance everything was top notch

The food was amazing! The service was horrible. We did go during the dinner rush BUT it took 10mins to have our server come to the table and another 10 mins for the drinks . Plus we were never offered bread while we waited. 10mins later am assuming a manager took our order. My Husband asked what cheese would go best with smoked duck. The man literally shrugged and said whatever cheese you like. It took another 30 minutes between our apps and our dinner. The table next to us who receive their apps after us got their meal before us. During this time our server Zack was MIA. Once we finished our dinner to took another 10 mins for them to clear our dirty dishes.I understand going out to dinner during the rush we may not get the best service but they need to do a better job.

We frequent quite a few restaurants in the area and this is the BEST place we’ve been to in the area. The food, service, portion options, bar, etc. are all amazing. We will be regulars from this point forward. Well done! The rigatoni and chicken Marsala were delicious. Thank you for a great experience.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere and vibe of the place. The food was incredible as well. One of the best NY Strips I’ve ever had and I’m a Prime Rib snob when it comes to steak and it was perfectly cooked

My husband, myself and our son enjoyed a wonderful evening at “Tagliata”. The staff are kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The charcuterie appetizer, and the ora king salmon were excellent! We chose four pasta dishes to share as family style; which were delicious! The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. Thank You “Tagliata” for an awesome experience!
