One of my all-time restaraunt in Austin. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, you get this sense of being right at home and casualness. From their food to margaritas, you can’t go wrong with the menu options. Their green salsa is the best one in Austin and their red salsa is most of the time warmed up and makes for a wonderful complement to the green. Their margaritas are an awesome price, super tasty, and very strong. They also have great micheladas which are very yummy and a big size! When it comes to food, my go-to item for every visit is their chilaquiles with red sauce. Their chicken enchiladas with green sauce are also super tasty, along with their sopa de fideo, tacos, and everything else you could order. Lastly, they are open late which is a bonus for all of the times you might be hoping for delicious Mexican food in after typical restaurant hours.

Open 25 years? I have been in Austin for a very long time and cannot believe that I have never been to this restaurant. Especially since it is open late at night. We were looking for a place to eat after an ACL taping around 11 pm on a Thursday night. Their site says open till 2am. Las Cazuelas has an extensive almost overwhelming menu. My friend is a vegetarian so she has plenty of questions for the server. We both decided to try some of the New Original Plates. They started us off with chips and salsa. The red salsa was watery tomato and bland. The green sauce was thick and spicy fantastic. She ordered the Spinach Enchiladas which consisted of cheese enchiladas with a generous amount of spinach topping with rice and refried beans (which may or not have been vegetarian), salad and guacamole. The guac was pretty bland but it was pretty late at night. I had the Emolada Enchiladas. Five shredded chicken enchiladas swimming in a mole sauce. I didn't want to mess with rice and beans since I had filled up on the chips and salsa. The enchiladas varied with the amount of filling. The mole sauce was rich and chocolatey...just a little too sweet. Ended up taking a couple home because I was full from too many chips. Curiously! Pretty decent food, good prices, late night dining! I need to try them again but earlier in the day as I can only imagine how tired the staff must be by late night.

So far so good . The prices are good. Lots to choose from. The menu is very large . Lots of alcoholic beverages to choose from. All priced well . Added a few photos. Didn’t get the whole menu but trust me . This place has lots to chose from. One of Austin’s secret destinations! Also it’s a 51% location so they serve drinks till 3 am on the weekends. 5.99 frozen margaritas all day!

My goodness this restaurant is amazing. We’re always on a hunt for amazing food, adorable atmosphere and great service. We were waited on by Rosie today, and she couldn’t have been more lovely and thoughtful. The gorditas rank with Taqueria Morelos, but different. They’re made by hand and to order. The carnitas are heaven on a plate. We are now new regulars! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Pleasant surprise. Came here years ago and didn't like it, but gave it another try. Don't order the pre made tacos (anywhere), but their fresh made are pretty good. Flour tortillas are slightly too thick, but good. Lots of fillings. Three tacos with two ingredients each for $6.25. Recommend.

3 of us had breakfast there and were quite satisfied. Very very good and tasty Migas, authentic and Old School Tex Mex. Loved their hot sauces and beverages. Will definitely be back!

I loved this place!!! Idk how long they’ve been there but it reminds me of the Austin I grew up in, which is becoming increasingly scarce. I got the veggie burrito, which I never get burritos! They just seem too basic to be appetizing but I’m trying to eat more so I got that with a carnitas taco on the side. O M G It was delicious. They don’t pre make anything apparently so i was able to customize for food allergy stuff. It was a pretty big decent size and just warm and soft, fresh. Very welcoming. The carnitas were delicious!! Totally worth the guilty pleasure. Flavorful, and just the perfect crisp on the edges. They top it with pico, just FYI. I love pico so that was a (+) for me. The fresh jalapeños got me!! And the waitress walked by and saw my face watering and brought me a sample of the melón Fresca. It was so good. I’m not a cantaloupe person but I am sold. I will always get their aguas frescas from now on. And we ordered a large to go with us at the end. They serve two salsas with chips complementary when you’re seated. The red one is served warm and you can tell some of the ingredients are toasted on the comal. This is The spicy one. Also giant chunk of fresh garlic, love it. The green salsa is served cold and is the milder one and you can tell the tomatillos, everything, is so fresh. Most Likely they run through that one because it is so tasty, refreshing, zippy, absolutely a must. It’s so citrus and fresh jalapeño but not so spicy that someone with a lower tolerance can’t eat it. I’d def come grab some of this salsa on its own just cuz. Just to have some at the house. I also got a side of the mole sauce just cuz I love mole. It was so good. And very worth it. My veggie burrito, I had to skip any cream or cheese so that makes it “kinda boring” like lettuce, tomato, rice and beans, but it came with FRESH AVOCADO for the win and it was delicious with all the sauces: the red, THE GREEN, the MOLEEEEEEE. Highly recommend this spot. The waitresses were very welcoming and patient. And the girl who noticed my face watering took the time to try to help me. They were great. Take care of these girls. They are an asset to the restaurant.

I think they've gained another client for life! The tacos were perfect, shred in your mouth & flavorful. Not sure what the negative reviews are all about, if you don't mind waiting a while for delicious food & drinks. Even at 10:30PM, it wasn't rushed, we ate the plates clean & I want to thank whoever the cook is cause it's was the BOMB DOT COM!!
