Houndstooth

Houndstooth makes some great coffee, and there’s plenty of seating, but the baristas here are what really sets this place apart from other coffee shops. They are all so nice and create such a good atmosphere in the coffee shop. The matcha drinks here are great as well, highly recommend those. Only downside, which other reviews have mentioned, is that there are no outlets.

Aethetics, 5 stars Food, 4 stars Friendliness/vibe, 3 stars Coffee, 4 stars Parking, 4 stars Trendy, clean, and modern coffee spot with good (not great) coffee, good music, and kind of weirdly standoffish baristas. Like snooty, unsmiling, matter of fact kind of energy from the moment I walked in. For sheer quality and deliciousness of coffee, I prefer Fleet coffee nearby. But Fleet only has outdoor seating, so this place is probably better for working or studying if you don't mind a louder space.

This review is from the perspective of a cyclist. Bike parking isn't great but there are three spots about 50 feet up the hill. The barista was efficient and made my drink exactly how I would at home. He seemed miffed about something though. The treat selection was a bit low but it was 10am when I arrived. Overall a good place to stop on your ride.

While the space is a bit boring and doesn't have much character (except for the small wall of dog photos which makes up for this quite a bit), this is still a fine coffee shop where you can get some work done, chat with a friend, or enjoy your coffee alone. It's usually not too busy or loud, the coffee never makes me say "wow" but is still good enough for me to want to finish it. If you happen to be over here, there are definitely better options, but once you'd tried those other options you should stop through here.

I rarely write reviews while still in the establishment but I feel inclined to now. My drinks (cold brew, iced coffee, and hot matcha latte with lavender) were outstanding. This is the most balanced and smooth matcha/lavender I've ever had, and I've tried many. The environment is the perfect, clean, comfortable and "easy" place to have coffee. Ordering to receiving coffee was extremely quick, and prices were spot on.

Great coffee and pastries, super sweet people behind the bar. I accidentally broke a cup while bussing my table, the barista was super nice about it - not only did she decline my offer to pay for it, she was also empathetic saying this happened often, and her first instinct was to say “don’t cut yourself”. Go get a coffee here, support the awesome people at this cafe!
