Enjoyed a fantastic steak and eggs here. I got the 10oz ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. The steak was thick and juicy and seasoned perfectly. I requested medium eggs and they actually did them correctly. Eggs yolk was perfect and not over cooked. Usually when I order medium eggs somewhere they come runny and I don't like that. Hash browns were thick and crispy, very good. The biscuits were fantastic with a golden light crust and moist inside. I drank an Arnold palmer and the drink was fantastic as well. Our server was very nice and the food came out pretty quickly and it was pretty busy. The place has a vintage diner feel which is exactly what I look for when choosing a breakfast establishment. Great place!

You couldn't feel more at home in your grandmother's dining room. They really make you feel at ease here. The food is incredible, service is on the mark, and the feel of the place is very much down home. But don't take my word for it, go see for yourself.....

Food was good, not long of a wait to receive our order. Very peaceful and quiet at night time close to closing time. Friendly folk. Everything was clean, no sticky tables. Unfortunate items missing from order and a knat found in a drink, drink was replaced no of charge and due to missing items and drink mishap the waiter was kind enough to give the table biscuits no of charge. Portions are average size.

My husband and I were PLEASANTLY surprised at this place and will make it a point to go back any time we are in Austin (seriously). We ended up there because our first two choices had 45-60 min waits for breakfast. SO GLAD we ended up at Jim's! Our waitress, who's name I wish I knew, was SO kind. She brought out our Biscuits and gravy before the rest of the food came out which was a godsend because my husband was hangry. I looked over at him and he was eating Biscuits and smiling. So far so good! The coffee was pleasant, the fruit bowl had Bananas and strawberries (not classic diner canned fruit), my husband loved the pork chops, the hash browns were PLENTIFUL, the chili was flavorful, and my Benedict was very good with plenty of ham. We also got pies to go and our bill was under $50. Jims is one of the best and most reasonably priced restaurants we have been to in a long time. So happy we discovered it, and we wish we lived closer!

Jim's is a sleeper great spot. It is dated in their decor, but their food is great, their staff understands hospitality, and they care about their guests. I went around 1:00pm on a Sunday and was immediately sat. After ordering, food came out in a timely manner, and our server made sure to keep checking on us to see if we needed anything else. I recommend going to Jim's over a lot of other places in Austin.

Man do we love little traditional breakfast spots like Jim’s! They have crispy hash browns, delicious pancakes, eggs how you like em and all American breakfast options. The service from our server was awesome and the food was done well. It’s an old school vibe with zero upgrades but man I love that. I’m sure lunch will be good too!
