Food was good, not long of a wait to receive our order. Very peaceful and quiet at night time close to closing time. Friendly folk. Everything was clean, no sticky tables. Unfortunate items missing from order and a knat found in a drink, drink was replaced no of charge and due to missing items and drink mishap the waiter was kind enough to give the table biscuits no of charge. Portions are average size.
Enjoyed a fantastic steak and eggs here. I got the 10oz ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. The steak was thick and juicy and seasoned perfectly.
I requested medium eggs and they actually did them correctly. Eggs yolk was perfect and not over cooked. Usually when I order medium eggs somewhere they come runny and I don't like that.
Hash browns were thick and crispy, very good. The biscuits were fantastic with a golden light crust and moist inside. I drank an Arnold palmer and the drink was fantastic as well.
Our server was very nice and the food came out pretty quickly and it was pretty busy. The place has a vintage diner feel which is exactly what I look for when choosing a breakfast establishment.

Man do we love little traditional breakfast spots like Jim’s! They have crispy hash browns, delicious pancakes, eggs how you like em and all American breakfast options.
The service from our server was awesome and the food was done well. It’s an old school vibe with zero upgrades but man I love that. I’m sure lunch will be good too!
Jim’s is pretty underrated. Traditional American breakfast food but better than Denny’s and IHOP imho. Plus, they’re huge portions. The chicken fried steak was on point, and the family was happy with their food. I also have to mention that their hostess at this location is pretty stellar, entertaining babies with silliness and successfully turning their sour moods to laughter.
In all my years of living here I never tried this place. It doesn’t appeal to the eye from the outside. But believe me this was good old fashioned diner food here. Service was friendly. The menu selection is good for whatever time of day you visit. People knocking this place are delusional and wouldn’t know what good food is if it hit ‘‘em in the face
The food brought back old memories of true diner food. The waitress was a little off. Our order had a couple of mistakes. But the friendliness and atmosphere made up for it.
I love everything we got, literally EVERYTHING. They also offer free kid's dinner on Sunday and Monday. Such a great deal! By the way, if you don't like mushrooms, you should try their fried mushrooms - - it's a game changer.
Really good chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken with homemade biscuits. Large portions for a good price. Friendly waitstaff.
Nice quick Authentic American breakfast place .
Jim's is a sleeper great spot. It is dated in their decor, but their food is great, their staff understands hospitality, and they care about their guests. I went around 1:00pm on a Sunday and was immediately sat. After ordering, food came out in a timely manner, and our server made sure to keep checking on us to see if we needed anything else. I recommend going to Jim's over a lot of other places in Austin.
