Solid Bahn Mi! The bread is always so crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I recommend "the special" which is the best of all the meats they offer. This place is my go to spot for an inexpensive, delicious and filling lunch. Two people can eat here with a drink a piece for like 12 bucks! Don't forget to buy one of their pastries on the way out!

Lucky Bakery is a hidden gem. It's located in a shopping center on North Lamar and can easily be missed if not looking carefully. They have an abundance of buns and Asian pastries for your choosing. They are so fresh and affordable, you will be craving another as soon as you finish! Although this may not be the best part of town, it is worth a little adventure to taste one of their delicious pastries.

This is one of my favorite bakeries in Austin. It's an Asian bakery, so you'll find a lot of buns and rolls filled with things like Chinese style bbq pork or red bean. One of my favorites is their milk custard bread. Honestly though, just choose something that whets your appetite and you won't be disappointed.

Delicious and affordable bahn mi made to order right in front of me. Crazy delicious with perfect bread and fresh veggies. This going to be my go to from here on out. Definitely gonna try their Vietnamese iced coffee next time. 😃

Lucky Bakery by far makes the best cakes I've ever had. After moving to Research Blvd from the Lamar location, they have reopened the bakery and are still serving the best quality foods. Walking into the bakery, you are greeted with tables of Asian pastries. I recently came here to order a birthday cake for my girlfriend's 23rd birthday. I wanted to order the cake a day prior, but they aren't open on Mondays. I repeat they are not open on Mondays! I called Tuesday morning and they said they could have a freshly baked cake by that afternoon. I ordered an 8-inch Asian fruit cake. Now for those that do not know what kind of cake that is, it's simply a two-layered sponge cake, filled with whipped cream and fruit in between the layers. The top of the cake is also decorated with whipped cream and fruits (strawberries, grapes, kiwis, peaches). When the guy brought out the cake, I instantly knew that it was going to be the best. The cake was just beautiful. He asked me to hand write on paper what I wanted the cake to say. After handing him the paper, he took the cake to the back to write the words. And guess what, he even wrote the "g" in my handwriting! (see picture) And for a decent $29 that's a good deal! My girlfriend and I were so excited to try the cake again (we've previously ordered cakes here before). To be honest, I think I was excited that it was her birthday just because I could find an excuse to order that cake from Lucky Bakery. Heck, when St. Patrick's day comes around...let's order cake! Oh you having a party, I know where to get cake! The cake was so light, so fluffy, and so moist. This cake had the perfect sweetness level, meaning I could eat the whole cake in one sitting if I wanted to. But we had to control ourselves. For the next few days, the only thing we looked forward to after dinner was leftover cake. So by now you're probably thinking "Gary is crazy nuts about this cake." You bet I am! Order the cake, and I guarantee you will be thinking the same.

Cute little bakery with fresh baked goods every day. I come here every other week to get some buns. My favorite is the pork sung roll, but the hot dog and green onion bun comes in at a close second.

I love all of their breads and cakes!. My favorite is the coconut cream bread. The owner is very kind and generous as well! I wished I lived closer to them.

Every item in this place is insanely delicious. It's in an admittedly "rough" area of town (I live in an apartment around the corner), so that makes it difficult to find. I think they need to make the inside more inviting and serve coffees as well.
