Excellent food!!! You walk up and order and they bring it out. No frills but the food is fast and really good! Not greasy, everything was fresh. I can't wait to come back!!! Try the chocolate dumplings, they were a phenomenal surprise!!!
low key hidden gem. Don’t be fooled by the unassuming atmosphere. The food is surprisingly good and at a very reasonable price. It’s not a date place but it’s a no frills place to eat with family and friends. The xaio long bao/pork dumplings were very juicy, delicious and the star of the show. Counter service was patient and friendly. Lots of parking in the lot in front.
The food was amazing. We had orange chicken with just the right amount of spice and a subtle hint of garlic. The Gen. Tso. Chicken wasn't as spicy but had a small kick still had lots of flavor. Crispy and shy with the sauce great combination. The egg rolls were crispy on outside and perfect inside. Hot & sour soup hubby says it's 9 1/2 need to try the soup. Generous portion sizes. We came across this place in my search for dinner after denying all other suggest by the hubby lol..... glad I did cause we wouldn't of found this spot.
If you love dumplings then you gotta make it up to Fat Dragon because theirs are no joke! I got the Original Pork Soup Dumplings (4) and they're so full of flavor and damn, they're easily a top 3 spot in town for them! ($7.75) - 4.75/5
Additionally, you can find dessert dumplings here such as Chocolate Fudge. You gotta try those, too. The texture is almost like that of a thin chocolate crepe, so it's A LOT better than you think. Trust me! ($6.50 for 4) - 4.5/5
Lastly, another fun item that caught my eye was the Cheeseburger Egg Rolls. Very interesting! Great flavor on the inside and fun crispy texture on the outside. ($3.95 for 2) - 4/5
All in all, I had an amazing time here. They're technically only to-go because of staffing issues, however you can eat at their restaurant, but they don't have an individual coming to tables so they just ask you throw away your stuff when done eating! Anyways, with all that said, I give them a 4.5/5 for being an amazing spot that hit all the right marks.
One of the best Chinese food options you could get in Austin. I’ve only tried their food delivery and my experience have been great so far. Would love to do take out and visit the restaurant someday.
They’ve done a great job with wrapping dishes for delivery. Would love to visit the restaurant next time to check out their dine-in atmosphere.
Man the food is great and the people are sooooo nice♡
I want to start off with the fact that I came in at almost closing time so I ordered take out. I got the stone pot lamb. The person at the front, I forgot to ask for his name but he had platinum hair with gold frame glasses (looks like one of those pop stars or movie stars in Asia) was very hospitable and sweet. The portion was great and the flavor was amazing! It had a great amount of spice but it’s not just spice!! There was savory flavor from the broth, the cabbage gave natural sweetness and the lamb was so tender (very juicy, but still had the flavor and natural texture of lamb). When I saw that there were noodles inside, I was squealing with excitement and I feel like I was in an episode of food wars (the anime). I ate the rest of the broth with rice and it taste great! Thank you for the amazing food to the uncle in the kitchen, thank the auntie for greeting me and thank you for the amazing service from Mr. Popstar!
Food was REALLY good that after my first time here I went right back the next day with my significant other. We had BBQ Pork Buns and some Soup Dumplings along with some Mexican cokes. Everything seemed hand made and prepared for every order which is definitely worth the wait. My standards are high now and I only hope to find a restaurant as good in Houston. I believe the owner was there the first time around which she was very nice to everyone and handed our food to our table. One thing to keep in mind, if you are paying with a card you will have to order $10+ worth of food which for two people you will definitely exceed.
I've ordered the Spicy Mala Drop Dumplings from this place over, and over, and over again. They have become one of my favorite places and foods to eat. Absolutely delicious. Everything that I have ever ordered from here has been delicious. I've had the ramen, lo mein, fried rice, beef, pork, chicken, shrimp -- it's all good.
The regular dumplings are pretty good, but a bit more bland for my flavor palette. I would suggest them if you're not a fan of any kind of spice. The softness soaks up flavor and melts in your mouth. I'll drop one into a cup of hot and sour or egg drop soup. Very nice combo.
Pork fritter in Gua Boa was solid.
Best egg drop soup I've had. It's a hint sweet, fairly thick consistency. Serving size was about twice what I expected for a "cup", so that was nice.
The dry pot beef was INCREDIBLE. One of the best tasting meals I've had in years. Extra spicy. Will definitely be ordering that again.
Small restaurant with BIG FLAVOR. You order at the counter and then your food arrives. When it arrives, it is nice & hot...oh, how I like my served from the kitchen directly to the table (no heat lamp food here)! Dumplings are made fresh to order. The aromas from their ramen soup is exquisite. There are several vegetarian options. Also, do not forget to order the chocolate dumplings - it's like chocolate dancing in your mouth...yum! The prices are also very reasonably price.
