The tacos are crazy good! I had the Carne Guisada, Butternut Squash and Goat Cheese and Fish Tacos. To say they were amazing is an understatement. The only downside was my frozen Margarita. They were way too tart. I am from Texas and I know they are supposed to be but these were almost pure like juice. I had the prickly pear and couldn't taste the prickly pear. Just way to tart. I think it may have just been an off night as they get good reviews for the Margaritas. Michael H. Was our server and gave us top notch service.

So the tacos are definitely not traditional (much bigger and more ingredients), but they are amazing. The carnitas duck confit and pork belly tacos were excellent. I went for happy hour. $5 margaritas, the bartender was great, and it has a really relaxed feel. This is an excellent choice if you're in downtown Austin!

Decent tacos for the price and location. Not very authentic but still very good. Great service and draft selection

Crazy good vegetarian tacos and queso! Top that with a few game day options we stumbled into and this was a delicious and economical meal.

Recommend the Guisado and Sirloin tacos. Make sure to order some side items such as beans, guac, etc. Very delicious and great quality. Personally liked the flour tortillas but was amazed by the Corn tortillas. Very lively environment, great for groups. There is seating outside but did not get to check it out, maybe next time.

Fun spot, clean, and friendly staff. Music was at a nice level and upbeat. Servers were all fast on the job and full of good energy. We sat at the bar and had an awesome bartender named Jason. Great experience, wish I could give more stars! Both of our servers were bilingual, talk about anticipating clients needs these guys were on top of their game. Clean bathrooms and the men's restroom had a baby changing table. Parking was right out front, very convenient we will definitely be back for more awesome tacos.

I liked the tacos! Even the fish tacos were pretty good and I don't even like fish tacos. The happy hour margarita is unbeatable for five bucks downtown. Only one problem, chips aka tortilla chips aka totopos were stale! Almost inedible, I'm breaking my teeth on these things. Please fix!

Chispas overall was great. I rate it somewhere around a 4.6-4.7 overall which is why I gave it 5 stars over 4. The location and atmosphere were nice and the staff was attentive and friendly. For drinks, we tried their house margarita and a glass of wine. For food, we got the Chicharones and green chili queso for appetizers and the following four tacos: chicken mole, pork belly adobado, Carne Asada, and the Baja pescado. The chicharones were good but the green Chile queso was amazing. Our two favorite tacos were the Baja pescado and pork belly adobado. The other two were still good. I also decided to try an east gulf oyster which was good but one costs $2.95. Happy hour is between 3 and 6pm daily so our drinks and appetizers were a dollar off. They also do a happy hour taco but we didn’t get it. Definitely excited to come back and try some other tacos along with their elotes.

When I heard about another taco place downtown, I wasn’t expecting anything too special— I was STUNNED. This place is INCREDIBLE! The service was fast and friendly. I was dining alone, but I was completely comfortable and welcomed in. Super relaxed atmosphere! Chelsea was super sweet and gave awesome recommendations. She answered all my questions and was very attentive without hovering around too much. The tacos are a la carte and very well sized. The tortillas (both corn and flour) are fresh and it shows in the flavor! I had the brisket taco and the butternut squash one. Both were fantastic. The verde sauce had a surprising kick to it, but the mole sauce (their hottest) was flavorful and delicious! All in all, I have a new favorite spot downtown! I can’t wait to come back— hopefully for brunch or happy hour!
