I am a royalty rewards member and absolutely love roll on sushi. Been going there frequently for over a year now and have never had a bad experience. The food is amazing, unique, and unlike anything you have tasted in a sushi restaurant. I highly recommend the sticky ball. I always get 2 for myself during happy hour. The staff is incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome. Love the atmosphere. Roll on is definitely the place to go if you are looking for a consistently great experience.

Roll On Sushi is easily one of the top places to eat in Austin. The atmosphere is tremendous, the service is prompt and very courteous, and the food... my god, the food. The Grouch is the best sushi roll I have ever eaten. The variety is wide, and each time I try a new roll, I am pleasantly surprised, both by the taste and freshness of the food. I highly recommend Roll On - even if you don't care for sushi, I'd say give it a shot because of their unorthodox approach to what sushi can be.

Love this place! It's not the place to go if you are looking for only traditional sushi. But if you're up for trying something new, Roll On is great!! Nice atmosphere, good happy hour on food and drink and lunch, and LOTS of creative menu choices. I loved the brussel sprouts and tuna bowl. My leftovers for lunch the day after were even fantastic.

Roll On Sushi Diner is a great and very "Austin" place. They have tradition sushi rolls, plus some Austin-style rolls that are simply amazing. Everything is delicious. The service is always great and they always play great music in the background. The decor is very interesting, too. It doesn't look anything like a traditional sushi bar at all, it looks like a 1950s diner, complete with the oval counter with stools around it. If you're in the area, give them a try. If you have friends who've never tried sushi (or think that they don't like it), this is a great place to bring them to.

I have been here a few times and loved it every time! I haven't tried something I haven't liked. The staff is very attentive and genuinely want you to have a great experience. The menu can be intimidating, but it's only because it all sounds so good! The sushi chefs were able to recommend some awesome choices! It's a chill, family atmosphere that I'm already recommending to all my friends! Some of my favorites are the Dream Roll, the Half-Baked Californian, the Grouch, and the Chicken Fried Steak Roll!

Maybe it's dangerous for me to be writing this review. Thinking about sushi makes me want to eat sushi. Wanting to eat sushi makes me think about it more. It's all a downward spiral until I wind up spending money I don't have to satisfy that craving. Roll On Sushi Diner serves something that is pretty much sushi. I really enjoyed their happy hour. Their offerings looked spectacular and tasted pretty good too. I can't really speak to the quality of their fish as I did not have much fish. I was too excited about the idea of chicken fried steak sushi. It... well, it tastes like a chicken fried steak meal, but I don't think I'd recommend it to others. Too much mashed potato means you can hardly taste the steak and it just comes out on the heavy side. I won't hold it against them, though. If you're looking for interesting, unique rolls, this is the place to go.

My ideal sushi place has great sushi without the attitude. I don't need to feel superior to the common person because I'm eating sushi. I want to eat sushi because it's fresh, it's good and it's convenient. Roll On is that place, only the food is better than good, its great. Wife loves the Lo-burn and my favorite is the Machete, although the seaweed salad might be my favorite item on the menu. I'll admit that the diner style seating is not my favorite for conversations with a group larger than two people, but I do like how it puts you up front with the friendly folks that are making your sushi in front of you.

This is one of the few "creative" sushi places that I really enjoy. Many of the combinations are truly delicious, even if nontraditional. But the traditional rolls are excellent also. They have great happy hours and specials, and a really delightful and friendly atmosphere. I've never had anything but stellar service here, and the owner has come by to personally say hi and ask feedback. It feels like a family place. The staff is given a lot of creativity, and it shows - not all the risks work, but they take 'em. They had a couple of "Breaking Bad" rolls once that were OUT OF THIS WORLD. I hope they bring them back. In the meantime, I can't wait to go for a first Sunday all-you-can-eat special. One of these months, anyway.

Not the place to go if you want traditional sushi, but still freaking delicious nonetheless. My best friend always gets the california crunch roll and shrimp tempura roll, which she craves all the time. I always get the fruity vegan and the hippie (I'm not too big on fish) and both are interesting, flavorful, and filling, which sometimes is lacking in veggie rolls. I definitely recommend this place. The restaurant has a kind of funky diner vibe, but the only downside is it's mostly counter seating. There's 4 tables I believe, so not the place to go with a group.

My roommate and I are huge sushi fans. We decided to try Roll On after living in Austin for a couple of months and hearing a lot of good things about them. We were definitely not disappointed! We split the Dynamite Roll, California Crunch Roll and the Cholesta Roll. First of all, whoever came up with the idea of chicken fried steak in a sushi roll is a certified genius in my book! It was delicious. The portions were the perfect size, as were the prices. We also decided to splurge and get 'The Elvis' (peanut butter, banana, bacon and chocolate sauce?! yes please!). It was perfect, it definitely completed the meal. We're already excited to go have another sushi date sometime soon! Also, our waitress was super friendly and helpful! Took us through the menu, showed us the new menu items, along with her favorites. She recommended the dynamite roll, and it was seriously delicious!! Keep on keepin' on Roll On, y'all are doing it right!
