Uchi stands out as an impressive Japanese eatery, providing a top-notch omakase experience. Brace yourself; the place is bustling, even during weekdays. Despite reserving for Wednesday, there was still a short wait due to the restaurant's popularity. Opting for the omakase experience for two was a wise move. The menu went beyond just sushi, offering a mix of dishes like fish, Wagyu beef, oysters, veggie appetizers, and sashimi. The sushi, featuring rich, high-quality fish, was truly excellent. Desserts, especially the chocolate treat and unique sorbet, added a delightful touch. The service was outstanding—attentive, with dishes served promptly. In summary, Uchi is a lovely spot that I highly recommend for an enjoyable dinner.

Uchi still shines after all these years. From the Shag Roll to the desserts the food is amazing. The service is spot on, never intrusive but always there when you need something. Truly one of the best restaurants in Austin.

Visiting from Chicago and so glad we tried Uchi. Our server, Jessica, was a great guide and made excellent recommendations. Everything we tried was delicious. Thanks for an amazing experience!

Our first time at Uchi was incredible. Made a reservation and got seated ahead of schedule. We love sitting at the sushi bar and our chef Sebastian was so sweet and kind. Jenny was our server and gave us great recommendations. We tried a few things off the HH menu as well as regular menu. The sea bass and Tasmanian trout nigiri were two of our faves! The atmosphere was very lively. At one point, one of the guys in the kitchen brought all of the sushi chefs gatorades— so sweet to watch the teamwork. Everyone seemed happy to be there and it looked like a fun place to work. We really enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back to Austin and eat at Uchi again.

An unforgettable culinary journey at the finest sushi spot I've encountered in the USA. Here's a rundown of the 8 exceptional dishes we relished: 1. hirame usuzukuri 2. kurodai 3. hamachili 4. namahotate 5. Atlantic salmon 6. saketoro 7. Shima Aji (Our FAV!!) 8. wagyu carpaccio As a birthday treat, they graciously gifted me a tantalizing sushi plate. Complementing these exquisite dishes, we savored 4 glasses of prosecco. Surprisingly, the bill only tallied up to $220—a remarkable value for the sheer quality and quantity of the exceptional cuisine we indulged in. This place has undoubtedly set a new standard for sushi excellence in my book!

I love Uchi — every time! I tried 3 locations of them, all amazing! They care about quality and the consistency. I took my friend who’s very picky about raw fish. She loved it! We can’t wait to be back again and again!

I’ve become an Uchi-convert. Yes it is expensive but the food is exquisite. Every bite is delightful, and the service is top notch. The only complaint is that it can get very noisy. We went with the omakase for a few visits to the restaurant but now know enough about the menu to order on our own. The cool tastings are some of the best sashimi we’ve had. And believe it or not, the desserts are out of this world.

Had a reservation for 9:30PM. By the time we got our food, it wasn't busy. For a party of 4, we ordered 18 dishes handpicked by a friend who happens to be an Uchi employee. The selection mainly consisted of their favorite dishes. Although the portions are small and come with a higher price tag, it is undoubtedly a destination worth splurging on for a special occasion or to indulge in culinary artistry that few can replicate.

Phenomenal. To be candid, this meal ruined me. I will not be able to enjoy sushi again for some time. The journey my palate was taken on was a ride like no other. Only the Uchi in Houston can compare in my mind. The staff were accommodating and added special items for a birthday in our party. I can’t wait till I can return. My one complaint is that we requested no red meat be included and that it be replaced with a fish alternative and they still brought out a wagyu beef dish at the end of the chef’s tasting.

Had a wonderful experience at Uchi tonight, they were able to accommodate a last min time change to our reservation which was much appreciated. The service was impeccable, John & Karen were both very knowledgeable in the menu and able to provide some delicious suggestions. We went with the Omakase, I would highly suggest this, you will not be disappointed. Everything was fresh and tasted out of this world. Highly recommend for a nice night out with friends or for a date night. 10+/10
