Found this place just driving around. Let me tell you, it was so delicious! The service was good as well. I had the lunch special, it was the millionares curry with chicken. The plate was huge with several sides. Totally worth it.
Very friendly service and the food is great! I'm new to this type of cuisine and I would highly recommend this to anyone who will listen!!
The place is small so if you are going in a large group, I'd recommend making reservations. The food is definitely authentic. We had friends who are maharashtrian and they found the food as close to home cooked food. We got the onion pakodas and shrimp koliwada to start. Both were fantastic. For our main course we got the lamb kheema, dal tarka, kale and daal, chicken tikka masala, millionaire curry with king fish abd the roasted coconut curry with paneer. We got the garlic naans as well. Everyone liked the kale and daal and the kheema the most. We found the fish to have a very strong fishy smell, but the curry was awesome. The garlic naans were one of the best we have eaten. The service was amazing and we would definitely go back to this restaurant when we go to visit Austin again.
If you love Maharashtrian food this place is for you. They have variety of Maharashtrian dishes like pithla bhakari, bharleli wangi. Chicken and goat prepared in malwan and kolhapuri curries. If you want spicy food you can ask them to make it spicy. They also serve liquor. Staff is very friendly and service is fast. I'll suggest this place for all India food lovers, specially for Maharashtrian food.
While the exterior and surroundings might not be as inviting the food taste and quality will make you come back. This is no upscale restaurant, it’s a casual neighborhood go-to.
They specialize in Marathi cuisine and offer many options. Don’t come for the experience, come for the taste and quality.
Recommend the Malvani Roasted Coconut Curry (not made the Thai way). This is Indian authentic, chicken is a good option or vegetarian. Lamb, Paneer, Goat ir shrimp also available. The biryani is also excellent and the Kheema Masala made with Lamb is excellent also. I recommend ordering a side of Nan bread (garlic / onion / plain available ). And a Chapatti order so you won’t have to use your fork.
They have lunch specials during the week, and serve several bottle beer options and wine. They carry a taj-mahal imported beer also for those more adventurous thrill seekers.
The best fish and clams I have had in the US. Authetic AF Marathi food straight from Konkan region in Maharashtra. They also have good deserts.
Delicious Indian fare that also includes some unique regional dishes and uncommon spins on classic dishes. The atmosphere is comfortable, the service is extremely fast, and the food is fantastic. Prices are a little higher than your average Indian restaurant. Many seafood items on the menu.
It was amazing finding a Maharashtran restaurant in the US. They pride themselves on being the only one in the US and they should. The food is incredible and reminded me of home. For the amount of food we ordered the prices were reasonable. I had the Millionaires Curry Chicken Thali. The Thali options were great and were all delicious. I would highly recommend this location. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. The parking is very limited. The only complaint I have was the tables were not cleaned at a timely manner, it wasn't the best experience to see multiple empty tables with dirty dishes. This also slowed down door to table service.
The best Marathi/Maharashtrian style Indian food in Texas and I can comfortably say the best Marathi cuisine food in whole US. They server wide variety of options apart from Marathi, Malvani dishes. They also serve famous North-South Indian dishes. Although its little pricy, I thought it was worth it.
Everytime I have visited Austin, have come here for lunch. Tried the Millionaire Chicken Curry and shrimp masala this time. Nothing special to write home about the chicken curry - it was ok ok. Shrimp masala is still very good.
Felt the quality has gone down a notch. The lassi used to taste better and fresher. Hopefully they get back to form. This had been one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in US and would like to come back here to get that old amazing taste.
If you are visiting here for the first time, order the following dishes and you won't be disappointed at all. For appetizer you should try RAVA FRY (any fish you want, but I will suggest Pompfret). And if you are looking for vegetarian option, order Zunka Bhakri and Eggplant. If you wanna order non-vegetarian, go for Kolambi Masala and Malvani Roasted Coconut Curry!!! You can order other curries and specials menu too.
Amazing! Great selections of food and exceptional service! Everytime I visit Austin I ALWAYS have to stop by. 👍
