Dan's Hamburgers

Just a burger? It's so much more than just a burger. That first bite — oh, what heaven that first bite is! The bun, like a sesame-freckled breast of an angel, resting gently on the ketchup and mustard below, flavors mingling in a seductive pas de deux. And then, a pickle — the most playful little pickle! Then a slice of tomato, a leaf of lettuce and a patty of ground beef so exquisite, swirling in your mouth, breaking apart and combining again in a fugue of sweet and savoury so delightful... This is no mere sandwich of grilled meat and toasted bread. This is God, speaking to us through food.

I love Dan's and have been coming here for many years. Their breakfast tacos are large and very good. And the biscuits and gravy are one of my faves. For lunch, I enjoy their cheese burgers. They curly fries and onion rings are all delicious as well. And they always have good service, even when they are busy.

Hands down some of the best burgers in Austin! Overall 5 star experience. I got the double cheeseburger with curly fries and a strawberry shake. Everything was astounding! Service was great and super friendly. I love the diner vibes of this place, and there was ample seating in the dining room. They also had a great soundtrack on, playing a bunch of songs from the 80's! Can't WAIT to come back here!

This was my first visit since a few years before Covid. The menu was a lot smaller, so I had a hamburger, onion rings, and drink with a side of hickory sauce and ranch dressing. The hamburger was just like I remember, but the ranch dressing wasn't as good. I used to want to drink it since it was one of the better ranch dressings, but now it is just, eh. Still had a great experience, and the workers were very helpful and kind.

Always quick and the food is delicious! But the main reason we drive to Dan’s is for the top notch service! Hope always brings our drinks right as we sit down and asks when we forget to order parts of “our usual” breakfast like a side of beans or our hash browns extra crispy. It’s the extra attention to detail that makes this our favorite!
