I was shocked with how much I loved this restaurant. After a 9-mile hike, we changed our shoes and headed in for a quick bite. The quick bite turned into a 6-hour dinner where we sampled 4 appetizers, two entrees, a dessert, and who knows how many glasses of wine, plus coffee and mezcal cocktails. Everything was amazing. The food was divine. The service was outstanding, and the staff was warm and personable. We spent entirely more money than two people should on a night out, but it was well worth it! 10/10 would recommend! We got the brussel sprouts, calamari, tempura squash, and cauliflower soup. My favorite was the Brussels. For the mains we got the bacon-wrapped quail (which had a lot going on but the flavors tied together marvelously) and the ravioli. We finished it off with pana cotta, which was scrumptious. All of this, a bottle of wine to-go, 8 individual glasses of wine, and two mezcal cocktails were about $220, so very reasonably priced in the grand scheme.

Had a beautiful & delicious dinner last night here with friends. My pork chop was cooked perfectly and I could cut it with a butter knife. Everyone else had the Sea Bass and they loved it. The suggested wine paired perfectly with the fish. A very enjoyable evening at Carpe Vino.

We like a lot going out. Last night we arrived in this magnificent restaurant which friends told us about. We spent a lovely experience there with high-qulity cooking and a well-trained crew and a distinguished cuisine. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will no doubt go again soon. We highly recommend.

Excellent, locally sourced and excellently prepared cuisine, and great, friendly knowledgeable service, with a 5 star wine list, even by the glass, which is a rarity even in the best restaurants in the area. My only complaint is if something doesn't seem as described on the menu, there is no trust that something may have gone wrong in the kitchen and this leaves the customer feeling unheard and untrusted. Fortunately, these issues are minor, and the food is still superb, but you get the sense the chef is arrogant and not willing to possibly be wrong...my guess is he will never get a Michelin star with this attitude...plus, we we are long term wine club members and that doesn't seem to matter - which tells you even more about the way things are run there. With all that said, all we hope is that this honest review opens someone's eyes and tries to correct what is otherwise the best restaurants and wine bar/club in the area!

Gorgeous little wine bar and eatery nestled in the quaint town of Auburn from the moment that you walk in with the exposed brick walls and the industrial look you know you found the place that will fulfill both your appetite and your cravings for some fine wine. Our server was extremely well-versed on his wine and the menu. I would have preferred not to have had to have a sales pitch regarding their wine club but it was short and concise and no pressure so I can overlook that based on the quality of the food and service

We enjoyed our visit. A planned birthday celebration. We partook in a bottle of Italian wine, 3 appetizers, olives, cheeses, and lamb, along with our main meals of Pasta and a very tender steak. Staff were personable and the Birthday was perfect. We will return.

It's an adventure of creative food and wine. Immeasurably beautiful tastes and atmosphere in an historic building. So I returned September 28, 2018. We spent the evening tasting gourmet mussels and homemade fig and plum ice creams at Carpe Vino, and other courses. We were served a light, filling harvest feast, quality food of northern California prepared by the chef. WOW! The family enjoyed time together. Thank you

Definitely one of the best dinners I have had in Auburn! A little pricey but you get what you pay for by far!! Very nice and classy place. I loved that there were NO kids screaming either. Nice adult place for a private dinner. We went for our anniversary and they treated us like royalty. Can't wait to go back!
