When I was a kid my dentist was upstairs from the Edelweiss and I got to have pie after a visit, so this "revisit" was a walk down memory lane. It is much as I remember, simple, comfy, and welcoming. The food is well prepared and portioned (we had breakfast,) the service is cheerful and efficient, and I felt wrapped in the glow of memory. Try the hot sauce on your eggs or potatoes, it's flavorful but not too spicy for this lightweight. P.S. the biscuit was like no other biscuit I've ever had, it's more like cake. Tasty but the texture unlike southern style.

You can always count on delicious food served piping hot to your table by exceptionally friendly and competent staff. All desserts and baked goods are homemade on premises. I have never been disappointed! Omelets are outstanding!

4/10/23. Here again and it didn't disappoint. Very delicious as usual. Even with a party of 5, the service was great and all the food came out at the same time and hot. 4/10/22. Its a small home town restaurant. Plenty of food and the flavors were delicious. I recommend the biscuits and gravy. Service was good and the prices are good

Luck was shining on me today. The wife and I were traveling through Auburn and decided to stop for lunch in Old Town Auburn. Just as I was turning to leave, a car backed out of a street parking spot. I didn't look a gift horse in the mouth and immediately parked. I asked the wife where she wanted to go and she said "why not here"? I looked up and saw the front window of Edelweiss restaurant. Interior was interesting as it tried to be rustic Bavarian. Food was fantastic. Wife ordered a BLT with fries and I ordered an omelette. The BLT came out exactly as the wife ordered. The omelette and hash browns covered the plate. Whole the egg part of the omelette was dry although the interior ingredients were well prepared. Overall a very good breakfast/lunch restaurant.

We tried this local diner in Auburn after looking at earlier reviews. We went in during the lunch rush and had some slow service however the food was fantastic. The omelette was my favorite item and was worth the wait. Sandwich was good as well, but I prefer the breakfast over the lunch. Even with slow service, the staff had great hospitality. Will return again in the off-peak hours.

Fantastic family-run establishment. I chanced upon this place while looking for pre-Tahoe breakfast. I loved it so much I made it my post-Tahoe meal too. They are known for their omelettes but don’t sleep on the extra thick French toast! The ambience is super cool, and the place is decked out like your alpine grandma’s mountain retreat living room. The service is warm and attentive and only adds to the homey experience. Can’t recommend enough.
