A true authentic Greek restaurant in Astoria that made me feel like I was in someone’s home, my Greek friends took me here so I know it was the real deal. We sampled a few plates, I’d recommend anyone else to do the same it’s the best way to truly enjoy the cuisine. We started with a salad and dips, a mix of fish and zucchini, and a dessert for everyone. Gave it a 4 since I didn’t get to try any meats, will definitely be back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Stamatis restaurant, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Our server was exceptionally polite and attentive, adding a personal touch to the evening. The atmosphere was welcoming, contributing to an overall great dining ambiance. The culinary experience was nothing short of delightful. I opted for the grilled snapper, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. My fiancé enjoyed the beef stew, a hearty and savory dish that exceeded expectations. The crowning glory, however, was the dessert – an out-of-this-world treat that left us thoroughly impressed. Pairing it with a delightful melot elevated the entire dining experience. Stamatis restaurant has truly mastered the art of creating a warm, inviting atmosphere coupled with exceptional culinary offerings. Without a doubt, I would eagerly visit again to savor more of their delectable dishes and enjoy the overall fantastic experience they consistently deliver. Highly recommended!

Old school Greek seafood joint. We had spectacular dips, fish and veggies. Some sides were sold out as they make them daily. We had to wait at 8pm for our table. Family group after group, most 3 or 4 generations large, so the huge crowd waiting was seated quickly. Small touches that make this a gem: Incredible feta and olives. Great olive oil and vinegar on the table. Server, a woman of a certain age, was clearly tired after the Saturday night skam abated. She was sad we didn't try dessert but we don't do desserts and we were stuffed!!

Had grilled calamari as an appetizer and it was fantastic. Also had a whole broiled red snapper which was delightful and so tasty. I ate in their indoor dining room and felt very comfortable. The service was good. I have been back there a couple of times and food is very consistent. No parking. Catch a a can in Astoria.

I had seen Stamatis mentioned on Reddit quite a bit as a staple Greek restaurant in Astoria, so we went and checked it out for lunch on a Sunday. The food was A+, and service was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the octopus and filleted grilled fish, they are spectacularly prepared. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and you can get Figo across the street for dessert.
