One Love Lounge

I went to this restaurant and was HIGHLY disappointed in the customer service and the treatment that my friend and I had. I contemplated back & forth if I should make this review or not. But, how we were treated was totally unacceptable!! As a business owner and in the customer service industry this was the worst I have ever received! When we get there we were seated and we ordered our drinks (which was the best part about our evening there and listening to the karaoke singers perform!) before ordering our food! I decided to order the Curry Chicken with the Mac & Cheese & Vegetables (Cabbage)... Well, the menu stated that the Mac & Cheese was MAC & CHEESE! When our meals came our food was served with "To- Go" plates... We noticed that our Mac & cheese was brownish... We were shocked... But, we still tried it. Come to find out... It was JERK MAC & CHEESE! I took 2 bites and could not eat the rest. It was not good to us at all. Lite Spicy Jerk Sauce with the noodles and Cheese on top! Okay, if that's what y'all were serving... That should have been disclosed on the menu because we would not have ordered that Mac & Cheese if we knew it was going to be Jerk Mac & Cheese! My curry chicken, rice & peas was decent... The Cabbage was not cooked all the way but that wasn't a big deal to me... I was just planning on bringing back home to cook a little longer to my preference! So, our waitress comes back around to us and we told her that we did not like our Mac & Cheese and would like to either take it off of our bill or exchange. So, she left and went to the back & ask the manager what she should do. So, she told us that we can exchange. So, I said I will take the Vegetables... Well, when she went to go put the order in.. the manager told her that we could not exchange or get a refund... & Pointed at a sign that was BEHIND us & that we did not see or know about until she pointed out... That there are no refunds or exchanges!! So, at this point we wanted to talk to the manager because we needed to express our concerns about the whole ordeal. Well, she went to go get her and the MANAGER said that she could not come out because she was fulfilling Doordash orders! So, they'd rather lose out on a Customer & this whole thing couldve been avoided! We were not trying to start any trouble or cause problems! We just wanted to be treated fairly! & It just escalated so quickly! I mean what if we had kids with us and we ordered Mac & cheese for them and it was jerk Mac & cheese... I mean it's just unbelievable! I've had Jamaican Mac & Cheese all throughout my adulthood and never had anything like this & the service as well! Just posting this so other consumers would be aware!

On 15 Jan 2022 approx 3pm I arrived at the Restaurant and placed a takeout order for oxtails. I ordered the oxtail dinner it came with rice and peas and cabbage. I didn't ask for anything special and nothing extra. I even left a tip. I got home all excited to eat my oxtails and it was horrible. There was so much gravy on my oxtails well over everything and it was extremely salty. I called the Restaurant and spoke to the Manager who told me sometimes people ask for extra gravy but I was not that person who asked for anything extra. He took down my name and number and was supposed to get back with me but it didn't happen. I at least thought he would have made the order back up to me but no. No call and no show of appreciation for me spending money at this Restaurant. I ended up throwing my food in the trash I couldn't eat it. Oxtails are not cheap. I will not be back.

Sigh….I hate doing this but it must be done. I decided to give this place a chance instead of Jamaican gates even though my girlfriend advised against it. They forgot our side of Mac and cheese and we had to go back in there to ask for it. The Mac and cheese was the worst Mac and cheese I’ve ever had, even worse than craft Mac and cheese. It was so stiff and looked like they boiled pasta and threw sliced cheese on top of it and called it a day. We ordered the 3 meat combo for both of us and the portion size was too small for even one person. The plantains were burnt too. We also had potatoes in the combo. Nobody asked for that. Overall, this was really disappointing for the money we spent.

This lounge/ restaurant gets one star! The only thing that was good was the entertainment….The food was disgusting. I ordered some beef patties that taste like they was warm up in the microwave.( Red Flag)Then I got the brown stew chicken with rice/peas and mac n cheese (Jerk) (Red Flag) (Red Flag) (Red Flag ) it was horrible! Throw the whole plate away! Drinks was ok.
