Great Harvest Bread Company

It had been some time since I've been back to Great Harvest and I learned upon visiting recently that ownership had changed. I can say now that the quality and service are very much still outstanding. We were given a couple of samples of their red, white and blue bread which was delicious. I am a huge fan of their cinnamon chip loaf which is as dense as the sun and utterly fantastic. This time I also tried their baguette which was equally as dense and had a lovely flavor of olive and rosemary. I will most certainly be back and can recommend everyone in the area to stop by.

The silver lining for Doc appts. in Annapolis is going to Great Harvest; awesome bread & enthusiastic Staff! I always go there hungry. :) So to my surprise "Wow", what a group of disinterested employees I walked in on (June 3rd, 9:45am). I think the individual at the counter was relieved when I said I wanted to first look at what was available so she could go back to making the coffee. Not as much bread available. What was on the shelves seemed haphazard and not well marked (if at all). Nothing on the chalk-boards above. So rather than rely on a Staff member who had other priorities, I politely said 'good day' and walked out with nothing. It really is so out of the ordinary (normally 4-5 stars), I have to believe this is just a one time occurrence.

I can’t believe I’ve lived in Annapolis for 4 years and only today went to Great Harvest for the first time. The smell when walking in the door was incredible and the staff was so helpful with recommendations. I went in to grab one pastry for breakfast and ended up leaving with a bagful of tasty goodies. Including some very adorable (and unbelievably delicious) fall themed loaves of white bread shaped as pumpkins and carrots! Best bread I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to go back!

First time visiting GHBC and it was grand. I didn't know it was there until coming in the area for a nearby establishment. I'm a HUGE bread lover and I totally loved the smells, the staff and the quaintness of this location. The 2 ladies from yesterday were superb. I picked berries and sour cream scone, a spinach and cheese scone and a 4 cheese roll. All 3 of them were so delicious, moist, flavorful and fluffy. I know I will be back. I will also share this with friends and on my social media sites.

I absolutely love the pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. the pumpkin muffins are so fluffy and soft but slightly crunchy on the out side of the top. And mine was warm on the inside, must have been freshly baked. Frank the owner is a charmer really happy enthusiastic guy he brightens my morning. I know Frank dedicate his life to his work and it shows you’ll see them in there at 2am in the morning baking everything fresh for that day. then you’ll see frank closing the shop at the end of the day! I’m not sure if he sleeps but he makes a amazing muffin.
