Chop Shop Taco

What happened to this place? This review is based on a visit several weeks ago. This restaurant was our go-to during the pandemic. The staff was friendly, engaging, and the food was incredible. Unfortunately it’s gone severely downhill the last several months, not sure if it changed hands? The super friendly waiters and bartenders we were used to are no longer there, you place your order via the app then some random person just comes and drops food at your table. No “welcome to chop shop”, no personality in any of the service. There are ALWAYS items out of stock, even if it’s early Friday night or a weeknight. No shrimp tacos, no fish tacos, no GUACAMOLE during our last visit. Originally the gasolina margaritas were a show, and poured to the very tip top. Not anymore. Seasonal margaritas are often out of stock. Please bring back the personality back to this place.

Chips from a bag! No home made chips here. Highly doubt a single thing is freshly made honestly. So salty it was hard to taste anything. Margaritas were weak. Ordering and payment is done from the app. Minimal table service. The location is convenient to the residential area, but it is best just to drive somewhere and not be left dissatisfied. If you genuinely care about the quality and taste of your food go elsewhere.

Tried to give this business a second chance. They failed . Incorrect order again, we have food allergies. We arrive Home and everything is wrong. We asked no cheese and they gave us cheese on all of the tacos. Called them up, gave us Terrible customer service, and gave a fake email address to send in photos of the order mistakes. Poor food service, but even worse management. Cannot recommend.

Great place to grab authentic style Mexican tacos in a low key atmosphere. They took a former car body shop and crated a unique restaurant space that merges the history of the former space with Mexican taco shop flare. They serve some mixed alcoholic drinks out of old gas cans further adding to the ambiance. Most of their menu items are good and they have a taco combos with a choice of sides like Mexican style street corn. I like their hand cut chips and guac and they used to have a great salad with radishes. My lease favorite dish was their chips and queso which was more like velveeta than the traditionally white Mexican style queso.
