Great little Chinese take out joint. This was my first visit to Dragon Wok, but I found the previous reviews helpful in boosting my confidence to eat here, I am really picky about Asian restaurants. The young man that answered the phone was very friendly and spoke perfect clear English which is not always the case as many of you know its not uncommon to call for Chinese take out and end up in a yelling match with someone standing in a noisy kitchen or cashier area who speaks broken English. So that was a good start.
We ordered the combo dinners, one shrimp with garlic sauce and one general's chicken, and also received a free container or egg drop soup for mentioning the coupon on the bottom of the menu. The restaurant is small and simple, with help your self boxes of soy, duck, and mustard sauces on a table near the register and the service when picking up the order was equally friendly as the phone interaction.
The combo plates come in black plastic containers with clear lids and include pork fried rice and an egg roll. The pork fried rice was really good with plenty of big chunks of red tinged Chinese style bbq pork, and the egg rolls were of the large textured wrapper variety instead of the small smooth ones and they were very good as well. The egg drop was a little thick for my liking but not bad. The shrimp with garlic sauce was excellent, perfectly cooked shrimp and the right combination of crunchy vegetables, although I will ask for extra spicy next time. The general's chicken was ok, the chicken itself was great, white meat with no grisly stuff cooked nicely but the sauce was pretty plain and canned tasting. It was still better than many super sweet americanized chicken dishes but not my favorite.
The total was around $17 for two people and we both had leftovers. The prices here are amazing, the lunch combos are under $6 and the dinner ones under $8. Dragon wok is great at what it does, provide fast fresh and inexpensive Chinese take out, and would recommend it to those who are on a budget or have a big family to feed.
Pretty good food, great prices, very generous portions (easily enough left over for lunch the next day), and everything seems very fresh. Their hot and sour soup is some of the best I've had in ABQ. And they deliver!

Best Chinese in the NE Heights!. I've tried most of the Chinese places in my area and Dragon Wok is consistently the best. The people are friendly and prompt. Most importantly, the food is flavorful and delicious. My favorites are the Crab Rangoons (filled with slightly sweet cream cheese. Very addicting), Wonton Soup, Custard Buns, Orange Chicken, and General Tso's beef. An appetizer and a main dish is plenty of food for two people.

Great for the price. I've had a couple of the combos (Curry chicken and Kung Pao chicken) and the portions were large. The food was tasty and the service was very good.
Great!!. We found this place when it first opened and have been regular customers ever since. The food is consistently good, the people who run it are really friendly. Highly recommend the Kung Po chicken, egg drop soup and the crab rangoons!
Dragon Wok is my FAVORITE Chinese restaurant in Albuquerque. I'm from New York and we ordered Chinese food all the time. It's hard to find good, authentic Chinese food outside of New York City. Dragon Wok has quite an extensive menu and literally every dish that I've ordered has been right on the mark! You can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu from this restaurant AND the prices are very reasonable!! PLUS they give you huge servings which is awesome for when you're extra hungry. Enjoy your next meal here!
Grew up in the area, been coming here for as long as I can remember! I don’t care what anyone says about this place… it’s my #1. It’s family owned and they always do their best. It’s always hot, it’s always good and consistent! Can you expect the warmest greeting at the door or sit down service? no, but that’s because they work hard to put takeout orders together with the staff they have. Hands down my favorite takeout restaurant, give it a try!
Top notch establishment!!! Do you want great food at an even better price.. Tham look no further.. I eat here at least twice a month at a minimum... since day one they quickly became a favorite..ive ordered many different things off the menu and can happily say you will not be disappointed
I have been searching for good Madarin Chinese food. I have eaten in Chicago's China Town, New York and LA, let me say this is on par with those areas for good, fresh, well proportioned Mandarin Chinese food. i put myself in a chinese food coma! i couldn't stop eating!! it was that awesome
The lunch combo is worth it. Wonton soup, Hunan shrimp comes with fried rice and egg roll.
They always make sure to cater to my food allergies! My allergy alert dog never tells me I'm in danger. The food is delicious and fresh! The employees are always friendly to me and rarely make mistakes. When they have, they remedy the mistake immediately! Hands down, I only eat Chinese food from there!
What a beautiful family. Their food is delicious and their young boy is so customer friendly. I will always buy my Chinese food at Dragon Wok.
This Chinese restaurant is LEGIT.. got the owner's son working the cashier, old yellowed pictures of the dishes above the counter, view of the kitchen in the back, no greeting... and as expected the food was fire! Huge portion couldn't even finish 1/3rd of my Singapore noodles for a reasonable price. Gonna have some good leftovers for the next few days. dont worry abt the other reviews about bad atmosphere or child labor or whatnot. that's normal asian restaurants for ya and how you know the food gonna be bussin

Dragon Wok on Academy Rd is pretty much your quintessential Chinese carry-out restaurant. I love me some good Chinese, and living in Albuquerque does not provide a great deal of options. The majority of Chinese restaurants in town are mediocre and only offer the basic delicacies that most Americans are best familiar with. Although the basics are also offered at Dragon Wok, it also offers a bit more. The menu is abnormally large and features a wide variety of options that allow patrons to be somewhat more adventurous. While the restaurant does have a few tables available for dinning service. Dragon Wok is really rather intended to be a carry-out type of joint. Yesterday, I placed a call in order during the late evening after getting out of work. Rather than being adventurous with their substantial menu. I ultimately settled on the sweet and sour chicken along with a small order of the chicken fried rice (in addition to the included white rice). I was told that my order would take fifteen minutes to prepare. When I arrived, it still had yet to be ready. This was a one off however. As all my previous order(s) have always been waiting for me near the register when I've walked in. So I will for forgiving this time around. Once I paid and handed my delivery bag, I went home to enjoy. What's best about Dragon Wok are their portions. The chicken was enough for two servings, as was the case for both the white and fried rice. Not to mention that they're more than generous with the amount of sweet and sour sauce they provide you with on the side. The quality of the food is also consistently savory, authentic, and delicious. For an economically challenged young person looking to make food stretch. I can always count on Dragon Wok to provide me with at least two nights worth of delectable meals.

Delicious! Best vegetable fried rice in town. For vegans try their eggplant in garlic sauce, absolutely the best flavors together. Ask for their spicy mustard, made in-house. It will knock your socks off. Mei Fun noodles are our favorite noodle dish to order. Both wonton soup and egg drop are also good. The staff is very friendly. Not too many tables to dine in, but best Chinese take out for sure. Orders are typically 10min.
