Lakeside Restaurant

Beware! This “resort” is not a resort. Currently, being forced to stay one night bc they will not credit us. This place is NOT renovated. It is still under construction. It has zero amenities. They don’t even have vending machines. We were told they haven’t put the vending machines up yet because they were forced by the state to open and they are trying to do things themselves to save money. Obviously, at the cost to the guests! WiFi doesn’t work and hard to get a signal without it. There is nothing to do here. We would have been better off staying home. We have a much nicer home with actual amenities than this dump! Dirty bathroom, no water pressure in the shower, cable tv keeps cutting in and out. This for $159.00 a night!

THIS HOTEL IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED AS OF May 31st 2021 😭 This luxurious hotel has been around for a long time. Beautiful setting in the winter, it was a beautiful setting for weddings or just a weekend getaway. It was used by the cancer center in Zion as overflow for patients coming from all over the world for cancer treatment. A lot of wildlife, and just a very laid-back atmosphere. Wonderful pool, wonderful gym, wonderful restaurant and room service!

The over all stay was okay. We had several of issues with our one night stay. We encountered our first issue when arriving at the pool. There were NO pool towels left in the bin but a full bin of dirty towels it was 5 pm. I let the front desk staff know and she said she would get more. I checked a few times and there were never any clean towels. Our second encounter was about 10 pm there was a "family" about 15 together in a few different rooms. They were running around the halls and even banged on our door at some point the noise stopped about 11 pm. The third issue i had was the t.v didn't work. I called the front desk and they sent a person to my room to pick up the remote and change the channel basically confirming what I said not to fix it. So we were asked to switch rooms at 11:15 pm we packed up and did so. Although the t.v worked in the second room it was DIRTY!!! There was hair on the sheets, bathroom toilet didn't work, the furniture was dated, the fridge was hard to open and blankets super thin. The pool is huge and plenty of space to keep groups spaced out main reason we booked. The staff was friendly and courteous. Most of the other guest were nice and respectful. The view from our room was decent "lake view". This hotel has potential it needs an update, new sheets and blankets and a better cleaning staff!

Very nice area nice hotel. Had issue with credit card and was notified at 8:30 Am on new years day. Would have been nice if we could have slept in more considering we stayed up all night to celebrate the new year. Staff was friendly just figured that staff member was new. Awesome pool! Comfortable bed!

Having been raised in the area, I have mixed feelings about the resort, beach, and hiking trails. I miss the straight road to the beach that used to exist, as well as the volleyball court in the lot my friends and I used to dominate everyone from Great Lakes who thought they were going to show us how it's done,"Cali style". Good times. I love the location of the resort and it's fitness amenities are excellent. Having stayed there a few times I do wish the hotel had a north-south orientation to enjoy the beautiful sunrises from the patios which face north now. Bad planning by the original owners. Perhaps an addition in the future? Their food is also very good. The staff is very helpful. The trails through the dunes and dead river are excellent. All in all it is a very good destination if you want to enjoy this natural beauty. A true local treasure. The beach has eroded significantly with recent lake levels rising and some monster waves in 2019 and I'm hoping to see it return to past levels this year.

Very nice and clean. Excellent swimming pool. Always have a great time here..... Recently stayed again. I rented 4 rooms for my sons 6th bday. Everything went fine had a great time as usual. This time though got charged 150 for "smoking" in the room. Called an spoke with manager. I explained that I didn't stay in the room because of the same reason. I could smell the smoke from the shared door. So I just stayed in one of my other rooms. The manager told me there's nothing he can do for me. And that there is no way the smoke can get in my room. This place is great but the workers are crooks.

The room is clean. Slept okay. Bathroom was decent. Spent 3 nights here, all 3 nights family of children ran up and down hallway keeping up noise. Fridge melted my ice cream, ice cream was literally warm. I didnt get the room I reserved which was a balcony king room with lakeview. Was told by the lady at the front desk that they have nothing to do with customers and booking dot com website. Asked about the room and was told their balcony rooms were booked, reserved weeks and weeks in advance. Not sure what's going on with the wifi but my phone worked okay with the 2.5 to 3 bars it maintained. May, just may give em another shot over the summer but as far as this weekend is concerned, Ive never been happier to checkout of a place and go home.

No cell phone service from AT&T and wifi didn't work 95% of time. From reviews this is a long standing problem that hotel management won't address. Room appeared to be recently renovated as was lobby. Pool looked nice. Water discharge every 15 minutes from pipe on ground outside room was annoying. Why would they have this located outside there most expensive rooms? Restaurant service was dreadful and appetizer was served Luke warm at best. Waiter disappeared for 15 minutes. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and definitely do not eat at the restaurant and definitely do not stay at this hotel. There were several other problems with staying here. Heed the warnings from all the bad reviews.
