Whenever we go to Kure beach, we stop by this restaurants parking lot to see these beautiful kitties. They seem well fed, there is food and water near by the trash cans. It’s been a while since we visited there. Hope these kitties are happy and healthy! ( saw something in one of the kitties eyes, not sure if it’s an infection or something)

Crouched in grasses - sun is sinking
food will come for evening drinking
silent - still - panting - thinking,
resting in the heat of sun.
Sun goes down and sky is red
food is coming - scent is read
lust for blood engulfs my head,
muscles tense for coming run.
Here they come by twos and threes
down to water - on their knees
no scent of me is on the breeze,
my hunt is only now begun.
There's one limping - limping still
he can't run with speed or skill
he'll be my food - my easy kill,
mark him well for he's the one.
Rising - tensing for the fray
alarmed - the herd stampedes away
thundering hooves - all but my prey,
my hunger peaks - this hunt is won.
Explode from cover - extending claws
closing fast on lightning paws
pounce - his throat between my jaws,
hold him down til kicking's done.
Feasting now in cool of night
flesh tastes rich and blood is bright
hyenas hanging back in fright,
I'll hunt again with newborn sun.
Such good grub at Flaming Amy's Bowl! Some many sauces and options to customize your perfect bowl. Love the funky decor and staff. The only downside is that there aren't enough grills to handle the crowds. The wait can be really long. I suggest going on off-peak times, like around opening or in the afternoon, for the best experience.
Finally made it back here. Oh how we have missed this. The recommendations on sauces are wonderful. The photo shows the mixture I chose plus the “Trey-fecta” which is three sauces combined (General Mux, Teriyaki, and Sesame Ginger).
Stop by and enjoy.
Went inside to try it out. Great concept. Picked my ingredients, gave my bowl to the chef and leaned back to watch. Asked what sauce and if I wanted rice or noodles. Picked the honey miso Sri racha mix and rice. Tasted great. One bowl was not enough so went back for another; tried a different sauce and noodles. They can mix any type of sauce you want; don’t be afraid to ask. Recommend sticking with the rice instead of noodles; the rice will absorb the sauce while the noodles won’t and then you have to worry about splatter on your shirt when eating.
Diamond in the rough. Yes follow directions and it's behind some buildings. At first it seemed sketch but the food is great and prices are good. You pick your ingredients and they mix it all together. Loved all of the options.
I like the concept that I can choose as many vegetables, meats, or seafood as I want. And you can get more bowls after your first bowl. I enjoyed my bowls.
This place has always had amazing food. It's basically an American version of Mongolian BBQ. You can have as dine-in all-you-can-eat, or get take-away by the pound. The variety is great; it's always cooked perfectly and there's a plethora of sauces to taste and mix for your palate's pleasure. The staff are always friendly. After I was poisoned years ago, when I could eat solid food again, the Bowl is the first place that I went to celebrate my recovery. I have never had a bad meal in this restaurant. If there was one closer to me I would be there every single day.
You know this is just one of those places that will never grow old for all of eternity. You could eat here everyday trying different mixtures and never be unsatisfied! This my all time favorite place to eat whether it is last minute or planned with friends. Can't believe how incredibly amazing this place is. Great people work there too. Just talk to the cooks about your likes and dislikes and it is guaranteed that they will give you the hook up for a sauce you will love. They will make it how ever you prefer and do not mind you being picky so they can prepare your meal to perfection for you! If you have never been here then this is a have to eat place asap. If you have ate here then you already know exactly what I mean. I think the. Only way this place can get bad reviews is if the customer showed a bad face and wanted to make a false hate review. Thank you Jay and Amy for bring us this amazing restaurant to Wilmington. It will be remembered forever and always!
One of the most unique places you'll eat at in the city, one of my favorite local places to eat. Really good, not so expensive, Really enjoyed watching the guys cook the food in front of you. So many different sauces to choose from to put in your food it's so hard to choose. Always leave the place so full I can never eat more than one bowl.
