I am always looking for a great Italian restaurant here in Wilmington. Well…I finally found one… Rosalie’s Trattoria. My husband and I went there last night and we were so happy we did. For our first visit we stuck wirh some very traditional dishes starting out with fried mozzarella. It was about the best I have ever had. The marinara sauce took it from good to great. For our entrees I had lasagna. The taste was on point and my serving was so large it would have fed 3 people. My husband had the shrimp scampi. It had the perfect amount of lemon and white wine plus the shrimp were fresh. Even the bread was good. I could have made a meal of the bread alone. We were so full that we did not get a dessert but I bet we will at our next visit. (Which will be very soon!)
Absolutely phenomenal food and service! We happened to be in town and were looking for decent food. What we found was amazingly good! Everything we ordered was prepared to order, hot, fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the calamari, fried mozzarella, raviolis, lasagna, & shrimp scampi! Large portions and high quality!
Our waitress so friendly, responsive, and helpful. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough! We may go back tomorrow for lunch it was so delicious.
We did not know that reservations are better and we accepted a table outside to avoid the 45 minute wait. Our beautiful server, Allie, was attentive and informative, noting the quality of their made to order meals. We started with the garlic knots, delicious, and patiently wait for our meals. We are very impressed and will return again!
We're staying across the street at the currently renovating Holiday Inn, and to our dismay the renovation includes closing the restaurant...one of the reasons we choose a full service H.I. so that we DON'T have to traipse around looking for decent food. Well, the inconvenience turned into a MAJOR plus as Rosalie's was right across the street! The whole dining experience was perfect. Our server Liv was a delight, she was intelligent, knowledgeable, and attentive. This is not a high end Michelin rated restaurant, but the food was absolutely delicious. The wife raved about her Lasagna, I had their Shrimp Scampi which was really good too, I just wish they had taken the tails off the shrimp. The piece-de-resistance of the night was their Mushroom Soup. I grew up on Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup, this took the flavor to a whole new level, if you go to Rosalie's and don't get anything else...get their Mushroom Soup, you can thank me later.
This place is a hidden treasure. We have driven past Rosalie's so many times without a thought. I am glad we decided to come in. The place reminds me of the little mom and pop italian resteraunts that were sprinkled around Central Jersey. The food was some of the best Italian food I've had since living in NC. The waitress was knew every dish on the menu, attentive, and very nice, and the atmosphere reminded me of an old school Italian spot. Will definitely be back.
The Mrs, and me are down here on vacation from NYC, I was craving Italian food, when we came across Rosalie’s Trattoria. The food was excellent, much more than we expected, and our server, Brooke, was friendly and attentive, and …. Can mix a drink! She up an incredible Whiskey Sour, absolutely phenomenal!
Excellent Italian food. Service was a bit rushed even at a 5:30pm seating. Menu is extensive, portions are large, had to take desert home. Came back for more spaghetti and tried the Bolognese this time. So good.
Man has this place blown me away. This restaurant has been on my must try list for a while and I finally went a few weeks ago. Now I've been back 3 times. Definitely my favorite Italian place in Wilmington now. The garlic knots and tiramisu are out of this world.
This place is amazing, authentic & affordable! The tortellini soup, linguini w/white clam sauce, gnocchi w/marina & the lasagna…every bite of each will change your world! We also had the fried zucchini & the bread - AMAZING! Finished with the lemonchello cake & tiramisu, of course! Definitely not disappointing! Must experience! We will be back!!!
FANTASTIC!!! Town Place Suites recommend this place and it is truly authentic Italian, old country decor, food so delicious and plentiful that we took a lot home! Andrea our server was great and very attentive we shared the Calamari Fritti, the Lasagna was to die for, we will be making this stop again when going to Wrightsville Beach. Note: This establishment is closed Mondays.
