For me this is one of the best American Chinese food spots. The key for me is to order during non-peak times and the food always hits.
Go to order - chicken and broccoli, pan fried wontons in the brown sauce, egg roll, honey boneless spare ribs, and sesame chicken.
Im sure they have bad days but quite honestly the last 5-6 times, the food has been really delicious. Comfort food at its finest.

I ordered 3 large chicken with broccoli, which comes with small white rice! Each !!!! And one large chicken fried rice! I paid $$70 !!!!
I could have paid same amount $70 for a delivery with uber! Or $20-30 less from other good place I am used to. Nowadays everyone is looking for best price plus quality! Food was fine as I said tho.
This is the best American Chinese place in all 5 Boros. I came for the fried chicken when there are hundreds of places to get fried chicken & Chinese food in the area, but this one is the absolute best. Try the fried chicken!!

Best fried chicken l ever had
I had a problem with my doordash order this evening. Doordash messed up the order status & it was not the restaurants fault. The owner was super helpful and understanding about the situation. I even felt bad because of all the stress Doordash caused for both myself and the owner! The owner took care of it for me and was extremely kind. Will definitely continue to come back and even more after knowing how kind the owner is.
I've been coming to King Chef for quite a few years. The staff is always pleasant and greets me by name!
The fried chicken here is simply amazing! Fried while your wait, not precooked and warmed up. The skin is crispy and flavorful while the meat remains juicy.

Best fried chicken hands down. Been going here over 30 years. Same quality, never cease to amaze. Can’t say enough how good this place is after all these years. I drive 30 minutes from Long Island just for their fried chicken.
Love this place. I’m about to go there now. Love the wings. Normally get Kung Pao chicken. the workers are not fawning but the skinny owner is very gracious and the female workers are nice for most part. Once had a grumpy lackluster female behind the counter but it can’t be fun standing behind counter all day long taking orders from public. I tend to order and then stand outside because the smoke from the cooking fills the space and makes you cough. Hope the workers suffer no ill effects from breathing in the smoke all day. The decor is rudimentary. There is surround wooden paneling and a large mirror with an embossed Buddha prominently featured. You can also see a nice photo of gleaming owner standing beside some guy who must be a celebrity. located in a kind of strip mall on the Flushing side of the Whitestone expressway. abuts a Wendy’s and a sushi place. Sometimes you have front row seat to argument between workers in kitchen area.
This is the only Chinese food spot that makes real Fried Chicken from scratch. Owner is in there everyday doing quality control.
