Solid breakfast restaurant and bakery. I've been here on two occasions - each were exceedingly positive. Both times were for a late breakfast prior to enjoying rugby games at the Norwin Soccer Complex. The first time I was wearing a Green Bay Packers shirt and received a good natured ribbing with lots of smiles when I gave it right back.
The food was fresh and homemade. The portions were well above average and prices were very reasonable. My first experience, I had two cups of coffee while seated and they offered one in a styrofoam cup to go on top of that. That is a restaurant that identifies the wants/needs of the customer and surpasses them. Today I had an enjoyable biscuits and gravy breakfast. It could have been more assertively seasoned, but was delicious nonetheless. I intended on stopping by on the way home to pick up some bakery items, but my game ran late and they were closed.
I have moved to the area a little over a month ago. I always like searching for a good place to eat breakfast when I'm in a new town. I try to eat at Jac's Cafe at least once a week now. It has a very hometown and personal atmosphere. I think the prices are good and the food is excellent. I always like to slightly modify a meal. I have even made up a new meal from time to time and the pleasant people at Jac's Cafe have no problem with that. I've just tried items out of the bakery for the first time and really enjoyed the white macadamia nut cookies and the cinnomon rolls. There was a wait last weekend and I was even offered a cup of coffee while I waited. Remember this is a small local cafe that operates as such but if you are on the fence about trying the food here, it is definately worth a try to make up your own decision. Thanks for listening.
Great, great food and great, great prices!. Everytime we go to Jac's we are amazed by how much delicious food we get for so little money. The owners are very nice, generous people. We love this restaurant and only wish we lived a bit closer so we could go more often. PS--the peanut butter balls and oreo balls are to die for! Totally scrumptious!
SUNDAY AFTER CHURCH REGULARS. We are Sunday after church regulars to Jac's Cafe. Today we fed our family of nine for $65.00. We had 7 adults and 2 children. The food is plentyful, we had all walked out of there full, and we still had a box to take home. The owners, waitress, and waiter are always very friendly, and welcoming. If you want a good affordable meal you must try Jac's, tell them Tyler sent you :)
I am a shill for piles of delicious food at great prices and homestyle service. Jacs is the best.
Seriously. Please let me give that family two dollars, the portions at this establishment are enormous. Most charge a sharing fee.
Yes, I am a friend, but I know good food when I taste it!. I have a degree in Food Service Management and ran the school cafeteria program at one of the local school districts for over 17 years. I am very picky about where I eat and the quality of food due to my experience in the food industry. I have been eating at Jac's at least 4-5 times a week since they opened 4 years ago. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are very generous. I end up taking more than half of my meal home almost every time because of the size, and am then treated to double the meal for my money. Joanne and Rich make everything homemade, and it shows. It is a family atmosphere and they care about the people that come in for meals. This restaurant is a gem!

Guy with the one negative rating clearly has a vendetta because Jac's is wonderful. We have eaten at Jac's many, many times. We go there every chance we get when we come to the Pittsburgh area now that we have moved. We have never had anything that wasn't absolutely delicious! The portions are HUGE, and the prices are fantastic. Everything is homemade, such as salad dressings, bread, soups, and all desserts. It is home-cooking at its finest, and they use high quality meats and fresh ingredients. The desserts, cookies, and candies are phenomenal and creative, and again ALL homemade. I am not sure what the guy at the top was thinking with his review, but EVERYWHERE charges for a plate fee these days. Besides, who is cheap enough to ask to split a $2.99 omelet anyway? Sounds like this guy and his wife need to get with the times if they have never heard of extra plate fees! We will continue to go to Jac's every chance we get, and you will NOT be sorry if you decide to eat a meal there. Oh, and this is not a "see-through" rating. THIS is from a person that has eaten at Jac's for over 3 years and has never tried to nickel and dime an establishment by splitting a $2.99 omelet because the restaurant IS generous with their portion sizes!
Coffee, cookies, and catering - oh my!. Jac's is a community-oriented restaurant that continually offers a variety of delicious foods including gargantuan omelets, pancakes the size of a small child, and scrumptious baked goods. The cheerful waitstaff actively engages in conversations with the regulars while Rich, the cook, sings in the kitchen while whipping up today's special. I continually recommend this establishment to friends and family. A+ !
