Kaliubon Ramen

WOW, I would literally eat here every day if I could afford to. The food is so incredibly flavorful and tasty! We enjoyed everything we ordered, from appetizers to entrees and bubble tea. One particularly nice surprise, my son ordered the edamame appetizer which I expected to be the usual plain old edamame, but this was something special, served with a wonderfully salty roasted garlic oil. I expect to be going back frequently to continue working my way through the menu!

Big Fan of all these ramen spots opening up all over the country! This place is unique, and we ordered two different types. Curry Ramen: Broth Was so flavorful and spicy! Duck Ramen: This ramen was a special and the broth was so filling and heavy. Man that was delicious. Noodles were cooked excellent although I usually prefer the other noods with my ramen.

I hold ramen to a high standard. It’s a noodle dish that needs to be made with passion. That being said, this ramen is good. Not great, or out of this world. The miso was a bland and the noodle was a bit undercooked. I’ve had some of the best ramen you can get in San Francisco so I won’t go to hard on a spot like this. We had the Cha siu bao (pork buns) for an appetizer and they we were really good. Kinda wish our server would of checked in on us more. All in all it’s a good spot for ramen. Definitely not the top of the line.

I would give Kaliubon a solid 4.5 (if you could do half stars). Granted, I haven’t had much ramen except for this one time in Paris in 2017, but I thought the truffle shoyu ramen was tasty and flavorful. My friends enjoyed the wonton ramen and kaliubon ramen, although the latter is listed as “spicy” and didn’t seem very spicy. Would highly recommend the pork bao, which were great. Dinner for 3 adults was slightly on the pricier side at just over $70.
