The Strawbale Cafe, located in Westhampton, MA is a charming and quaint sugar house with the best pancakes (blueberry please) I have ever had. Warm, caring and friendly owners/staff provide all the comforts of home. Reasonable prices and other great food besides pancakes. Here are a couple of photos I took of the sugar house and the Cafe made of bales of straw. (Thank goodness there are no big bad wolves around).
Good, basic dishes, nothing fancy. Perfect when you want to take a scenic drive.
This was a fun morning adventure breakfast with my young kids. Just the right length drive out of town.
Good was very good. Staff was great with my kids.
I found the history of the building to be very interesting. The gift shop was small but interesting.
Prices were very reasonable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We'll be back.
This place is great! During sugaring season they have a bit of a limited menu because of how busy it gets, but for the rest of the year they have a pretty sizeable selection. The coffee is good, they offer gluten free pancakes and bread (and subsequently gf French toast), and maple everything. Very tasty! The staff are always friendly! We they're busy, service can take a little time, but I feel like that's kind of the point. Also, it's really cool to step into the sugaring shack and chat with the folks in there. They're really kind, friendly and obviously knowledgeable about sugaring.
Had great Sunday breakfast here! Food is tasty beautiful country yet authentic setting. Watch out for chickens crossing the road! The maple whipped cream is worth the trip. cute little gift store
My husband and I really dig Strawbale Cafe. (My husband has been the Foursquare Mayor for at least the last 5 visits...and counting.) It's one of our favorite local haunts. Using their own maple syrup, they make their own maple oat bread. Many of the veggies (and some fruits) are grown at the adjacent farm. They even offer several gluten-free bread and pancake choices. My only wish is that more of the meat, egg & dairy options were sourced organically and, where possible, locally.
The staff is always attentive and friendly. Leo (the owner) will always take time to chat or answer questions for us Westhappy newbies. Jeff (the waitstaff) can pour as fast as my husband can drink his cup of joe. All of it is done with a smile.
We bring all of our out-of-town guest here and are always excited to see what specials Anita has concocted.
Great food, friendly owners. Don't forget to ask for maple whipped cream! They are no longer offering tours of the maple sugar house but the restaurant is well worth the trip.
We always have excellent service here. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The food is fresh, delicious, and never overly greasy. One visit convinced us that we would be regulars.
The Strawbale is a great little place for breakfast. Quaint, family owned place. Great food, good prices, very friendly staff! 5 solid stars!
