Winking Lizard Tavern

Rounding up to 5 starts because I don't believe you'll find a larger beer and whiskey list in the area. Mixed drinks were reported as not being overly boozy. Food is good too, albeit not exceptional. My mother really likes their haddock. I had a patty melt on a recent visit that was good, albeit on unusually small slices of rye. The fries are definitely quite good. My wife's salad looked good as well.

We dropped in here to try some wings at this little lizard oasis in northern Columbus Ohio. This place looks awesome it has an enormous iguana which is cool for kids to look at and check out plenty of seating inside and out highly recommend it looks fantastic. The lighting in this place is a little on the dark side even at the noon hour but it’s not terrible it just gives it more of a bar feel that a restaurant or pub feel. The service and staff here are awesome they are great. I did try new two new varieties of hot wings today the Nashville hot and the Cajun. Neither one really hit the spot they weren’t too hot but they just weren’t really very flavorful. Give this place a four stars it’s great it’s worth a shot come and check them out

Great wait staff... good food and good drinks... the atmosphere was great... the food was the only issue. It was good but bits and pieces were burnt and the wings were drowning in the sauce. Just the key elements were burnt, the bacon on the fries was charcoal. The wings themselves were burnt and the grease in the fryer needs changed or something... now that being said the flavors were there aside from the burnt parts. And that is the only reason 4 out of 5 stars...

I can't unfairly rate this joint lower or higher. On a Sunday night, we had low expectations of what may be open, so I don't fault them for this. But the website said open until 10p. Couldn't get someone on the phone when we called ahead, as it was an automated message. Unfortunately, when we got there at 8:40 we were told the kitchen makes last call at 8:45 so we couldn't order. Oh well, they still offered us in for drinks, but we were starving so had to move along. Bummer. They seemed nice about it! Knowing the food industry, I certainly didn't want to be an inconvenience to the staff. I'll def give it another try down the road and update accordingly, as I've had good experiences in the past at other locations.

Great whitefish, the shells and cheese is a little bland, the coleslaw is good and the cheese bread better on dine in than takeout. The lizard lips aka chicken strips are just as good as most places and the fries are good. They do have an excellent array of sauces. Burgers seem on par with most sit down joints. Overall it's a good meal for a reasonable price. Their beer menu is nice. The margarita was okayish. I would recommend eating their instead of takeout as they left the coleslaw out of the meal and we had to return, their takeout containers allows the bread and fried items to get that wet, limp taste.
