Black Powder Tavern

1st time here. The place is decorated very nice for the holidays. We came for lunch. I had the blacken fish Tacos which were salmon. I thought that was a nice twist. They are spicy. If you're not a fan of spice pick something else. My husband had the club sandwich. We both enjoyed our meals. We finished with me having the apple crisp which was more apple thN crisp. My husband had the hot apple cider with captain Morgan. We are looking forward to coming back and try dinner.

BLAND - Everything “looks” great but sadly is not. I got the ale burger, it was cooked perfectly, but the flavor just was not there. My wife said the same about the Mediterranean salad. I’m open to the possibility that our meals were bad choices (burger at a tavern shouldn’t be) or that we caught them on a bad day, either way, we won’t be going back.

It was our first visit to this restaurant and we were very impressed with all aspects of dining here. Great tasting food (had Pork Belly wraps, Shrimp and Grits and Big Ale Burger + 2 wonderful choices of beer). Nice service. Interesting and comfortable ambiance. And very good value for all the above. Definitely coming back for more. P.S. Our third visit was even better then the first two. The food was the same yummy, but the service was much more efficient and nice. Our second visit was for dinner and the service wasn't that great because they were very busy. We think that Lunch time works better for us. This time we've tried Fish and fries and Brussel sprouts, and both were just outstanding in taste as well as the portion size. Thanks to the whole team. Planning to come again every time we are in the area.

This place has the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had in my life and I have tried many. The one thing I might change is grab a side of thousand island in case you like a little extra. The food and service were very fast and very fresh. The sweet potato fries were amazingly crispy but soft which can be difficult to do. Absolutely would come again.

Consistently good food and friendly service. Four of us recently ordered two chopped salads, one with shrimp and one with salmon, and 2 burgers - one veggie and one classic. Salads were large and the additions were very tasty. The burgers were good and served on lovely Brioche buns. Limp fries are a deal breaker for me and these did not disappoint - very crispy. Occasionally, will stop by just for desserts after an evening out. Do miss their expanded dessert menu and wished they would peel their apples for the crisp but otherwise it's A+.

We have been going to the Black Powder since it opened and have been regular diners ever since. The food is consistently good, the ambiance is pleasant, nice menu and pretty good beer & drink choices. We had some poor experiences with service but a manager got involved and very politely asked us to give them another chance. Service is consistently inconsistent.

We are here for a birthday celebratory dinner. Our waitress was so nice and made the evening really special for us. We sat out in their patio because the weather was beautiful. All the food was delicious. We really enjoyed the shrimp and tomato bruschetta and I got the chicken pot pie which was amazing!! The burger and homemade chips are also a must try.
