Marco's Pizza

Quite some time ago (I think not too much longer after Marcos opened) I stopped into Marcos to pick up an order. That night it was an absolute mess. People were backed up over an an hour waiting on their pizza. Customers were becoming rude with staff, very rude, and it just was not a good night for Marcos. Grown adults were complaining at the young staff just trying to figure out what to do. When I say they were struggling that night, they were struggling. Pizza was ok. Fast forward, a few weeks after that I received a hand written card from the business owner. Hand written! In that card was an apology for the debacle that night with a coupon for free cheesy bread, and an ask to give them another shot. I would have regardless, but this letter always stuck with me to support their efforts. Since, Marcos has been at the top of my list for the area. It’s always fresh whether delivered or pick up. I’ve ordered from here now on multiple occasions. Last night they said my order would be done in 18 minutes, and they handed it over to me exactly on the dot 18 minutes after I hung up the phone with my order. The gentleman that answered the phone was super pleasant and the younger gal that handed me my pizza was also very pleasant and thought it deserves a review. Great staff, great pizza. Pictured ha is a cheese (asked for well done) and the Deluxe with cheese bread.

Great food; however they can't give an accurate wait time or deliver your food on time to save their lives. I understand being short staffed but then don't tell me my order will be ready in 40 minutes if you know you can't follow through on that time. Every time I order delivery it comes an hour after it's supposed so this time I did carry out and they told us 40 min so it should be ready at 6:11 it's now 6:35 and we are still waiting for our pizzas to be made. This will be the last time I order from marcos as I have given my feedback on this issue 3 other times and nothing gets done.

The service was very good. Nice young lady behind the register that was not pushy and very friendly. We felt like mixing it up for a change on pizza crust. Ended up doing an extra large with the original. In 15 - 17 minutes they had that pizza on table. not a ton of seating but I think it's more like a quick pick up when you're heading home. They do have a nice drive through window. They serve Pepsi products and have a nice assortment of wings, subs and sides. Perfect for a family on the go or just grabbing a quick lunch or dinner.

As I type this, I have eaten some of our pizza order, which got here half an hour after the estimated delivery time, which was itself an hour and fifteen minutes after the order was placed. If there was some notification of the time it would take before I committed to the order, I didn't see it. Being really busy is understandable--I think it's the last day of Drake Relays, and it's a Saturday, and Marco's makes really good pizza. (Despite being a bit cool, the thin crust pizza we got is as good as I remember the awesome thin crust from Imo's in St. Louis being.) That said, we might not have chosen to place our order had we known ahead of time how long it would take. The web site, on which I placed the order, requires that you choose a specific Marco's to prepare and optionally deliver your order. Once they know that, they should have sufficient information to respond "Whoa! This Marco's is REALLY BUSY and t's liable to take [time] to get your order cooked and in your hands. Do you want to reconsider?" All I ask for is the info I need to make an informed choice. (Some folks have issues with drugs that need to be taken with food.) So.. .four stars tonight for time issues. ANY other time, an unhesitating five stars.

I ordered using the mobile app. Set a pick up time of 630pm. I arrived at 625p and was told my order was about to go into the oven and was told would only take 5 minute. 15 minutes later I was still waiting for my order. I had to ask about my order before I received it. The food was average. The pizza's were skimpy on the toppings (there were only 2 toppings) and barely had enough cheese to cover the toppings. The chessy bread was tough to eat. I am rating Marco's 3 stars because some of the staff were very friendly. Based off the food and the wait for my order I would give Marco's 2 stars.
