This was my first time skiing in New Hampshire. Loon Mountain is beautiful! You get some great mountain views. The facilities are well-kept. The trails are challenging. I really wouldn't suggest Loon for a beginner skier. A majority of the trails are intermediate, and honestly, one of the greens even felt like an intermediate. The food is not really worth the price, but it's like that at most ski lodges.
I gave this one less star because it gets very crowded, even on weekdays. Treat Fridays like the weekend. We got there at 8:30 on a Thursday and got a spot in the closest lot. When we arrived at 10:00 on a Friday, all lots were completely full except for the backup lots a couple of miles down the road. Be sure to get there early!
First time at Loon. I've been skiing all my life, mostly in Vermont and loon exceeded my expectations: quality trails -- great conditions (cruisers top to bottom and some good committed bumps), mid 30's and sunny, and I had no idea how tucked-in to the mountains Loon is. Great views including Mt. Washington.
Nice town, dinner at The Common Man (definitely recommend), look forward to heading back in the future.
What a wonderful mountain! So many trails for many levels of ski and snowboarders. The facilities were nicely maintained. The sights from the peaks are gorgeous. Trails were nicely groomed and the snow was continually made. We did go on a Thursday so it was nice and quiet. I could imagine it getting busy during the weekends. Lovely day on the slopes!
Everything was just perfect. Trails were nicely done, modern lifts on some trails, the heating seats 8 chair lift was truly appreciated. It’s small skiing resort but definitely well organized with a lot of opportunities for taking defrosting break and have some snacks, lunch or place to warm up.
Went over the holidays after Christmas and was so packed. Nice place if you’re somewhat experienced but not for beginners. Pass is easy to get with the ticketing system. Lots of routes. Parking is a pain. Food was decent.
Really awesome mountain not far from Boston. Great facilities and learning progression trails. Can get a bit busy but overall it handles it pretty well. Gondola is sweet and the steam train is a nice touch overall. Also the gear and service shop are sick and the staff are amazing, got my partners skis completely mountain ready in no time. Don't skip out on the nice views and the birds :)
Loon mountain was fantastic! Resort had a gorgeous view from inside and the balcony. We seen ice castles last season as well as snow tubing at loon mountain. Overall experience was great!
Overall experience Is great. Views are beautiful. I went there earlier during summer and was able to enjoy the lush green mountains. I went there again recently and enjoyed the fall leaves. You can take the stroller of the gondola ride during summer season. They will keep the stroller in a separate ride and you can ride in the separate one in the stroller is big. I would recommend to avoid going there during specific national holidays because it will be too crowded. There is a small cafe at the top which usually serves pizza and some sandwiches. There was no pizza there in our last visit. You can sit inside or outside the café. There is minimal seating arrangement outside on the top. You can basically walk around and enjoy the views, can climb to the top of the mountain nearby, can hike back down.
