Gayle’s Depot Square Farm Shoppe

I frequently eat at Gayle’s Restaurant. I am conscientious about healthy eating, so eating out can be difficult depending on the restaurant and the chef. At Gayle’s, they are always very accommodating when I ask for healthy choices. I often times get steamed vegetables and grilled chicken without heavy sauce or oils. I get a baked potato or rice pilaf for my side and I’m always happy with that meal. Her garden salads are filled with fresh leafy greens (not iceberg lettuce) as well as cucumbers, fresh tomatoes and sliced onions. I once ordered a chicken and pasta meal with marinara sauce. I asked Gayle if I can have grilled chicken with a small portion of pasta and can she add vegetables. Do you know how awesome that meal was? I had a large bowl of grilled chicken, mushrooms, spinach, zucchini, onions and broccoli over ziti with a light marinara sauce. The portion was too large for me to finish and it was very tasty. My husband finished it for lunch the next day and he enjoyed it too. The prices are very reasonable and I love the atmosphere. She has large windows with an open floor plan which makes it nice and bright and welcoming.
