Chi Cha rebranded and turned its hooka lounge into a restaurant and a market - a great pivot during COVID. The food is Peruvian inspired. We had their pork belly sandwich - Peruvian Breakfast on the brunch menu, a Peruvian traditional soup - Aguadio de Pollo (I feel like it’s chive but menu says cilantro - it really elevates the soup), tuna ceviche (very japanese inspired and great flavor emphasizing the earthy tones through soy sauce, wasabi and seasame).
Their cocktails are worth the price and so appetizing.
We got coffee and Nutella empanadas to finish the meal. One takeaway is that, after their rebranding, they have done a great job serving Peruvian food right and well, providing a cozy and lush dinning environment, and offering a creative alternative - a market/cafe where you can grab something home quick.

This is hands down the most comfortable and trickiest Lounges in the city and the new management has everything falling into place! Great music good food and great bartenders and servers!

Chill spot. Lots of hookah. Ask for updated price before ordering food. Menu is not up to date and they may charge you a different fee.

I really enjoyed this place. Good food. I really don't smoke hookah, but it was still a great atmosphere to hang out with my friends. Table areas are comfy and I like the hip hop music they play. I'd definitely return. Getting 4 stars because the bathroom is in a tight basement area and it kind of smelled weird.

I came here on a Tuesday so it was on the quiet side, but I personally prefer that. I got the chicken nachos and they were delish. I liked the $6 happy hour special. The hookah was on point too. Our service was consistent and our server was friendly. I loved the vibe of this place, the big comfy couches and the old school r&b. The crowd ain't bad either.

David, the bartender, is absolutely amazing. His drinks are mixed to perfection, and he is extremely attentive...... which says a lot as I'm here on the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend. He even times the right time to change the coal on the hookah without us having to ask. He really made our experience worth while. While tasty, the serving sizes of the food don't really compute to the size, but they get the job done. If you come, try to get him to serve you, and you definitely won't regret it.

Nice lounge, good vibes. Best time to go is Friday/ Satisfy nights. The prices are reasonable, and the cocktails are not weak. The best part is the hookah. Wait staff are friendly and quick to get things out, always visible and around when you need something. Music is on point. Overall a good time!

This used to be a hookah lounge and is now a cute Peruvian/Asian cuisine restaurant. Excellent food and cocktails. Great choice of wine. Cozy, chic atmosphere and design indoors. Sometimes they have bands playing outside. My new favorite hangout. Check it out!

Superb live music and hookah! This is a great place to spend time with friends in an lively, yet relaxed atmosphere. The couches and seating areas were clean and comfortable. We also ordered a few small bites to eat and they were great!! We will be returning.

Great laid back hookah lounge. They give you excellent service and have good happy hour deals.

Interesting Cafe in a reclaimed alley. Staff is nice, ended up spending more than anticipated, but definitely wasn't a bad time or terrible experience.
The staff seemed to have the confidence and competence on the coffee machines, food was presented appropriately, and i never felt that something was hung up or out of place. That is, besides eating in an alley under the fire escapes and such.

A friend and I visited the establishment for the first time this past Saturday arriving about 11:30pm. Waited a good 5-10mins before the hostess came to seat us, at which point she explained to us that there was a $60 minimum which included food, drinks and the hookah which is $25 alone.....ok, we're down. We're seated only to end up waiting another 15-20mins before I flagged down the hostess and asked whether we were ever going to be waited on. She apologized saying she'd get someone. Our waiter finally comes and takes our order and, yep, another 15-20mins go by before she finally returns.... with the hookah. By this time I'm a bit irritated as I'm expecting the drinks, first, prior to the hookah and now I'm sitting there thirsty as hell still waiting on drinks. Because of all the waiting we had to do, we weren't able to get the wings we'd ordered along with the drinks because now the kitchen was closed Besides the slow service, it's a pretty decent spot to chill, get your hookah on and listen to good music. The atmosphere is dim lit, couches and chair seating with booth style seating in the back.

Love the place been going on and off for years but the last time I went the waitress wasn’t too good. The atmosphere is good, food good, drinks good, hookah has declined a bit. Work on your DJ and customer service!

Attened on 12/8 happy hour. The service was very slow. The kitchen could not get my food order correct. The waitress was overwhelmed with our party of 10. Confused drinks and didn't bring drinks. Double charged items, incorrectly charged cards and over charged checks items not ordered. Overall bad experience from kitchen staff and servers. Club has a nice air about it. Good music... Hookah is ok... Prices good. Food selection could be better.

I had a really good time out celebrating my soror's birthday! The DJ was pretty good. The atmosphere was lively. We enjoyed the hookah's. I didn't realize they no longer served a sushi fusion menu. They're under new management, I guess? That was disappointing but everything else was all good!!! Go and enjoy!!!!

Had a great time with friends celebrating my birthday! The staff was very accommodating with my party size! Food, especially the chicken wings were really tasty 😋

The place is ok. I don't like that they seated us in the back because we didn't purchase bottle service. There was available seating. The vibe is perpetrating a fraud. I probably won't come here again. Not the Best hookah either.

Good atmosphere, good hookah. The service needs to be improved. Took 20 minutes just to get drinks and waitress never followed up with our party.

Visited on 3/31/17 for my best friend's bday. At first the male hostess at the door seated us but he was new and not really up to speed on things. Thankfully our waitress Ashley stepped in and took great care of us and even turned the TV's to the women's final Four game for us! Oh and her hookah recommendation was great, strawberry, mint, peach.

Service gets worse every timeI visit. Inattentive waiters and waitresses. Is it that hard to get a drink with only three people in the building

I've been to Chi Cha lounge many times and have always had a pleasant experience. However, my last experience was so terrible it will be my LAST time ever coming to this establishment. I arrived with a friend around 11pm and paid a $10 cover. We walked in and requested a table for two and were seated instantly. Not bad for a Saturday night but the night went entirely downhill after we were seated. We were given a menu and proceeded to wait over 20 minutes to have our order taken. We ordered a hookah, drinks and food. We waited another 20-25 minutes to receive our order. Another server finally came over to check on us and went to check on our order. When it finally came we only got our hookah and one food order, no drinks or the other food item came. On more than one occasion I attempted to call over our server, but she stayed on the opposite side of the room and NEVER made eye contact with us so we could inquire about our missing items. There was a gentleman named Andre Holmes who was the manager walking around and when I was able to finally catch his attention to cancel the missing items (after 45 minutes I didn't want them anymore) and he proceeded to tell me that it is my responsibility to notify my server (like I didn't already try numerous times) and also told me that they were packed and I didn't have a valid reason to complain if our order was taken and we received some of it. I felt that he was a little nasty in his explanation and he attempted to walk away as if my complaint wasn't relevant. We later found out that the second server who checked on us was our actual server. Why she was absent through this whole process I don't understand but after I complained she appeared to make herself present. We canceled the rest of our order and asked for the check. Andre told me that he would give me his card so I could follow up with the manager and never brought it to the table. After finally waving him over again to remind him (I saw him roll his eyes at me before he came over) about the card he told me he was too busy to stop and get it. I expressed to him that the service was horrible and he again reminded me that the place was packed and I should be understanding. He says "every once in a while 3 or 4 parties come in and have a bad experience and I'm sorry you fell in that category tonight" Are you serious? The lack of empathy was ridiculous. We paid the bill and left.
Needless to say I understand that they were busy. There was a large crowd there, but if you can't offer good customer service to every guest there then there is a problem. They are out to make as much money as possible at the door and are willing to sacrifice guests satisfaction to do so. The hookah was nice despite these troubles so I guess that validates the one star, but like I said this was my last time ever coming here and I won't be looking back.

As my wife and I were eating and drinking at the bar security informed us that they had to remove all of the chairs from the bar area. We asked to speak to the manager. The manager said they did this at 11pm every day with no exceptions. So we lost our seats. Everyone had to stand. I have zero problem with standing but we were in the middle of a meal. After we continued to complain, they found us a table. I will never go to this place again.

Had a nice time. Table was ready. Hookah's came quick. As packed as it was I didn't wait for my drinks. A little expensive for shots. Other than that had a great time.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE. You suck. Your service is horrid. How can you take a reservation FOUR days in advance for 12 people, You repeatedly call us to confirm the reservation by calling the day of (JANUARY 26) THREE times --- YES WE'RE COMING!!!, then cannot accommodate my party when we get there. Who tries to seat a party of 12 at two tiny four tops at a hookah bar? The other FOUR members of the party are supposed to just sit with no table and just order food and drinks served on their laps? What about the hookah itself? You know... The device your business is supposed to showcase?

Your staff and management were useless and disrespectful after we asked to speak with the GM. You shouldn't arrive 20-25 minutes after we requested your presence to try to resolve this issue and you bring a snotty attitude with you. Even worse, when we ask you why you have extra tables near us that have just 6 people seated at them with room for many more, you are ignorant enough to say "why don't we stop worrying about whats going on over here and start worrying about how we're going to solve your issue."

The manager then disappears apparently looking for tables for our guests for another 20-25 minutes with no update whatsoever. All the while the other available seating and tables are slowly filling up. Strange because we couldn't be seated until our entire party was all there together, yet this group that supposedly has a reservation for 20 can come arrive whenever they please.

I'm glad we didn't wait for you to return and decided to leave, but I'm annoyed that we even stayed as long as we did. After we left we ended up going to a real hookah bar that could accommodate our party with NO NOTICE I might add and went to PURE LOUNGE. They earned our money that evening and will again in the future if we're ever in the mood for hookah in DC. Thanks for ruining at least part of my birthday that night, but looking at the bright side, i know to never go to your establishment and tell all my associates about your "service" or lack there of... whenever hookah night is suggested.

Suprisingly good food.. Came here with ten friends around 9:30 on a Saturday night. The hostess sat us right away.

The service here was slow and we were often looking around for our waitress (which I had also experienced on a slow night).

The food was well priced and absolutely delicious. The fried onions with (chipotle?) aioli was so simple but seemed to be a never ending basket of yum.

Hookah flowed well all night and didn't order many drinks but the mojito I had was a winner.

I like the atmosphere, the food, and the hookah. As long as you're not in a hurry I'd definitely give it a shot.
